Name Change?

I'm considering changing my name to a phobia like the staff. But is it too late to jump on the bandwagon? I've been mulling over a name change for some time; so after 45 days of a phobia name you'd probably just see me as Lyichir. That'd help keep people from wondering what a Rachira is, and keep me from having to direct them to the aborted epic that is an old shame of mine.   So, name change. Yes or no?

If New Bionicle ever connects back to Original Bionicle

I hope it's in some postmodern metatextual sense, in which the Toa discover that there are an infinite number of universes, with their own Toa on their own adventures.   I'd rather the universes NOT influence each other even if there is a tenuous connection, but if they ever do Lego might as well go full Neil Gaiman with it.

Ten Years

Hard to believe it's been ten years since I first joined this little ol' website back in the heady days of 2006.   Both myself and the site have come a long way since then.   Here's to ten more!

Ninjago Miis!

So I thought I'd share some Ninjago Miis I'd created with y'all. These were created specifically for use as Mii Fighters in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS!   Kai pic (QR Code) Zane pic (QR Code) Cole pic (QR Code) Jay pic (QR Code) Lloyd pic (QR Code) Nya pic (QR Code) Full gallery (when public)   My personal versions have the Ninja as Mii Swordfighters wearing Ninja Suits with Shuriken of Light (Neutral 2), Airborne Assault (Side 1), Hero's Spin (Up 3) and Blade Counter (Down 1) as their specials. Politics

Guys guys guys.   I just wanted to say I'm generally proud of what's been going on in the blogs lately.   People have been making entries (at least partially) about politics. And the staff has, from what I've seen, been VERY lenient about letting them live so long as they stay civil. And for the most part, they have.   That said, there are some things I'd like to talk about.   Most of us know what happened in Texas. A lot of (generally agreed upon to be) bad stuff went on. Remember that that was

Lyichir's New Blog!

Well, I recently became a premier member (for life), so now I have my own blog. I've never done this before, so here it goes.   'Ahem'   My name, or username at least, is Lyichir: Rachira of Influence. A Rachira is a being from a Bionicle story that I plan to write. They are beings of great power, so great that they each one has control over a different aspect of reality. They are:   Lyichir: Rachira of Influence Aanchir: Rachira of Time Gruchir: Rachira of Matter Zheichir: Rachira of E

Lego Sale At Tuesday Morning

Today. Our dad's going to try and pick out some Bionicle and Exo-Force sets we missed last year. (That's what I expect they'll have, as last time they had a sale like this was last year, and they had '06 sets then.)   EDIT: Well, they didn't have much Bionicle, but Dad DID bring in quite a haul! He got the Batcave set, a Ferrari set, the Battank set, and the MOBILE DEVASTATOR! Wootcakes!

Festi Tried His Best...

...but it looks like he won't win the BBC contest after all.   Don't cry, Festi...   Anyway, if you haven't voted yet, vote for Festi in poll C and vote for my brother's reindeer in poll G. Festi would have wanted it that way...

Back To Normal-Er

Okay, I'm back to being Lyichir. And a good thing, too, since I was a bit worried the few people who recognized me before might have stopped recognizing me.   This time just Lyichir, full stop. It's briefer and doesn't prompt questions of what a Rachira is supposed to be. Plus it helps to standardize my usernames across LEGO fansites. Speaking of which, can you do name changes on Cuusoo? I don't remember why I signed up for that using my abandoned Yahoo username, but I regret it. Gotta maintain

Commonplace Book

Well, my attempt to get this blog back on track has come to a halt. For Christmas I got a journal that, due to the BZP virus, completely supplanted my blog, and had the added benefit of being private, so that I might be able to record my most meaningful secrets and thoughts in it without fear of misunderstanding. I may update this occasionally, but as you can tell from my previous entries, occasionally is a word which here means "practically never," as Aanchir would put it.

Okay, Okay!

Chocolate Frogs has finally convinced me to stop being lazy and get to my blog. So here I am. And I'm reminded of how much work I have to do for it.   See, I haven't been very active on BZP. It was just yesterday that I realized that I got my one-year Vahi. BEFORE MY LAST ENTRY.   So I need to revamp my blog, with a theme other than my failed story. I've got a coupla ideas like...   Cow Planet (A Sandra Boynton themed blog, no? Wish I could find some good pictures....) Surreal Life (My not-s

My New Look

My blog's new name and look is from the Mike Oldfield album The Songs of Distant Earth. This album is in turn based on the works of Arthur C. Clarke, most specifically the book The Songs of Distant Earth.   So any of you who were wondering can rest easy now.     In addition, I don't like it as my blog theme either. I will probably change it at some point to being a less themed, more personal blog, or a blog themed after a story of mine called Surreal Life. Don't count on the second one, though

BrickFair 2014

This past week has been a whirlwind so I figured it would be worth summarizing it both so that people who didn't make it could have an idea of what it was like and so that my experience can be recorded for future reference.   This year, unlike past years, Brickfair started on Wednesday. Apart from setting up MOCs, greeting other BZPower members, and attending the opening ceremonies and bingo, not much happened that day. I did pick up and build the set I won in one of the BZP anniversary raffles,

More About Me And Rachira

Look at this as a continuation to my first entry.   So, why Rachira? I thought up the name Rachira, and all of their personal names, last year in an old story about a Toa of shadows. They were going to be dragon-like spirits that served the Shadowed One. I scrapped the idea, since they were nothing but something for the Toa to fight. I gave up on the story.   Meanwhile, school had gotten harder, and less fun. All of these problems were just "facts of life", things that I couldn't change.

Sculpey=hard

Not the firm kind of hard, as it's actually pretty pliable before you bake it. No, I mean hard to use, especially for making masks. My first sculpey mask turned out good. (I'll post pictures if I ever stop being lazy ) But that had layers, not ridges like my second one has. Or LIPS. If Aanchir designs me another mask that's this hard to make, I'll strangle him.   Anyway, here's my process for making masks.   Step 1: Take one Toa Inika head. Step 2: Coat it in some kind of lub

Gali: Master of Water Poster!

I finally got my signed Gali poster back from the framer!   I won this at the BrickFair VA 2015 live charity auction. It's signed by the artist (and designer of the Gali: Master of Water set) Matt Betteker. I knew I wanted to preserve it in as pristine a condition as possible, so I ended up spending more to frame it than I spent on the poster itself. But it ended up looking fantastic, and I'm eager to find a place to display it.

Attention, members from Northern Virginia and the surrounding area!

Are you super-psyched for The Lego Movie? Would you like a chance to hang out with some fellow BZP members? Has it been too long since you've visited a Lego store? Well, check it out! I'm trying to arrange a meetup for a bunch of us to get together at Tyson's Corner or Potomac Mills and watch the movie, visit the Lego store, and just generally have a good time. If that sounds like something you'd be interested in, head over to the topic! I need all of your input to make this meetup as cool as po
