Tis The Season To Be Jolly... Now Go Away! :p

I haven't really built any MOCs since before Brickfest: I think that really put a strain on my creativity and desire to MOC. Though I wanted to MOC something, I just didn't feel fully compelled to do so; weep not though, for BBCC #39 gave me a reason to MOC.   One complaint people are giving is the color restrictions, but that's what makes things interesting. Utilizing my means within the confines of the rules, I am making a group of small MOCs which are unlike anything I've done before... I'm

Time Flies When You're Sustaining Injury

Today, it occurred to me: it's been over three years since I cracked my left wrist: it was August 10, 2003. Cracked does not mean broken, as some people keep saying "broken."   Oh, the life-changing drama... of course, it was while I was recovering that I found BZP.   Now my left hand is dealing with a separate injury from something else that happened in June (you don't want to know). Nothing weakens a person more than severely hurting the weaker side (I'm right-handed) because building up str

Three Years Later, One Special But Busy Week

I'm currently not feeling well, so if my thoughts might be somewhat disconnected. That's to be expected. (Fortunately, I kind of mapped out a bit of what I'm going to say before I felt how I currently feel.)   In case you haven't noticed, I've been here for three years. And that three years means a lot of things regarding BZP and of the real world variety (some things I won't blog about).   Anyway, not only is this day special because it's the day I joined, it's also my brother Megaship's birt

Those Poor Three-footed Rabbits

I've been wanting to write this for about a week or so, but I figured today is best. As we all know, today is Friday the 13th (sarcastic "ooh, scary").   One of the symbols of good luck is a rabbit's foot, but when you think about, how is that lucky? Someone has to injure a rabbit to get good luck; rabbits everywhere are now hopping around, missing a foot. That just seems painful and unlucky to me.   I just know somewhere out there is a farm full of three-footed rabbits, all wishing for some g

This Looks Shopped!

It totally is, but it's still pretty cool.   I have full access to the Adobe suite. Time to make some masterpieces, but first to get some work done.   ©1984-2009 Toaraga EAM

This Day In History

2008: Toaraga becomes Global Moderator.   I can't believe it's been a year already; so much time has passed.   If only I had something to celebrate the occasion... besides finals and finals prep. Then again, that's a terrible way to celebrate: by having tests.   ©1984-2009 Toaraga EAM

Thinking Outside The Box

It's so cliché, it's now ironic.   Creative people think outside the box; truly creative people use the box as well.   ©1984-2009 Toaraga EAM

Think Before You Quote

Okay, something I noticed people doing is quoting a post that has something against the rules, and they want to kindly bring it to the poster's attention that something in said post is against the rules. Provided that's not the only thing someone's posting, it's good to let someone else politely know that there's something wrong in the quoted post.   However, if you're going to quote the post, please remove the rulebreaking content out of the quote before you hit that post button. If you quote

Things That Don't Exist

Status quo- The world changes its views too often for this to realistically exist. The only thing that's achieved by submitting to such a notion is thinking in stereotypes. If the status quo really did exist, things would be much more bleak than they really are, and history would not be that: history.   Fear of commitment- This is mostly applied to relationships, but in reality, whoever or whatever one dedicates his/her life or time to is what that person is committed to. It can be work, family

Things Are About To Change

Fall is in the air... and soon it will be on the ground. Today Tomorrow is the first day of fall in the Northern Hemisphere. (I got confused on what day it was.)   Change is good.   ©1984-2009 Toaraga EAM

They Won Super Bowl 42!

Holy cow! That was some awesome Super Bowl XLII I may or may not have watched at this point; I still can't believe ______ won. Oh, no one will forget that particular play-- yeah, you know the one I mean. Also, remember that point in the ____ quarter when that player did that action? And can you believe that _____ penalty called against the _____ team by that referee? It makes me so mad! What's wrong with that referee!? On the other hand, I might be overreacting just a bit.   Then, of course, ho

There Is No Support Team. There Is No Support Team.

I'm not gonna lie; it's not easy to leave something you've done for many years (though I've done this type of thing more than once this year). How I view things on BZPower now are so different than how I used to see them. I spent several months as a Forum Assistant and roughly the last year-and-a-half as a Global Moderator, so I developed a knack for seeing oversize images or ones that take longer than they should to load. Let's just say it was borderline paranoia sometimes to see images and al

The Same Thing We Do Every Night

To think: this last week was like a parking lot with all the blogs. But now that all the other cars have left, I can find where I parked. Darn Omi keeps parking in the Fire Lane though.   Anyway, if you know that phrase in my title, you should be able to figure out where I'm going. (Gasp, the title matches the content and isn't totally silly... how unlike me.) Two of my favorite shows have finally come out on DVD: Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain.   It's about time: the shows haven't been o

The Last Airbender

I saw it last night. It was kind of a letdown. Too much exposition, not enough action; I'm not sure who the movie was directed toward.I felt like falling asleep because of all the talking Emotions were lacking. Transitions were choppy to cram in all the places and story elements. Ten-hour story crammed into less than two hours, never good since so much has to be cut (standard). I think it also lacked the comedic element that made the show light-hearted; it just seemed so serious (even Soaka-- e

The Last Airbender

Super Bowl spot was mediocre, but the theatrical trailer is full of win. Go, watch it!   Also, Industrial Light & Magic.   The effects should be top-notch, so here's hoping for a just as good or better story. I don't want an overpowering special effects show to make up for bad storytelling. So far, the movie looks promising.   ©1984-2010 Toaraga EAM

The Few, The Proud, The Lego Employees

Okay, so by now, we all that Greg Farshtey is both staffed by LEGO and a member of BZP, but how many people know there are other people that work with or for LEGO? There are lesser known people than him, but without their contributions, BIONICLE wouldn't continue to be what it is.   With that said, I've decided to make it my duty to dedicate a block to these hard-working individuals. If you look to the right, you'll see their BZP Username and what they do in the real world that has to do with

That Color Friday

Call it what you will. Green, black, pastel, puce... Friday. I'm going to be working a long time that day... you people who shop at 2 or 3 in the morning for non-emergency/non-food items are crazy. Of course, some of you will be keeping me employed, so it balances out my insanity. Here's hoping I'm not dead by next weekend.   ©1984-2009 Toaraga EAM
