R P Gs In The C O T

Okay, so I've noticed a trend of RPGs (that's Role-Playing Games, not Rocket-Propelled Grenades or whatever else it could stand for) down in Completely Off Topic lately. Now I have nothing against them, but there certainly are a lot of them. Too much product without limitation often causes lethargy. Yes, you have choices, but where should you begin? If you don't figure out what you want to do, you stop moving.   So to keep some order and prevent flooding of them in the forum, I'll be limiting a

Quote Marks Don't Work And Are Not Allowed

The title's a bit misleading, as this is a dual entry for two things: quotation marks in reports and reporting things that are not allowed.   Many times I see reports that should read with the quotation marks like so: "Such-and-such" topic, but the quotation mark reads as: " I don't know if that's just how it is for me, but that's how I see it.   Speaking of reports, often I get reports that say some type of topic is not allowed. Generally, it's not necessary to say that the type of topic is

Quit Posing As Me

I want to complain about and to someone pretending to be me. First off, quit trying to look like me because you're not! It irritates me that no matter what I wear, he copies me, especially since I like to be original, but if he copies me, what's the point? Can you imagine my dismay when I make a face and this guy makes the exact same face as if to mock me. Gah, I'm so flustered about this horrid knock-off, I can't even think clearly.   You know what, person in the mirror, just stop it already!

Psst, Kid, Wanna Buy A Star?

I didn't think it was real, as I'd only seen it on television shows, but apparently there are real websites that let people purchase stars. That's one of the dumbest, most pointless things I've ever heard. O_O   Anyway, if you need gift ideas for my birthday, I'd like a star near Orion.*   Entry word: Panicky Example: If you don't wash your dishes properly, you might find the inside of a panicky.   *Please don't buy me a star.   ©1984-2007 Toaraga EAM

Professional Web Designer

I finally made money for helping design and further design a website. I didn't get paid much, and it was for a family friend, but it's still a start.   In other news, I've basically been gone since before the 4th (very fun weekend), and then BZP slipped into an offline coma on Wednesday. Add to the fact I'm taking a college class for July/early August. So if you sent a PM since around that time or have need of my attention, I ask you to be patient and not to think I'm lazy.*   *Just becaus

Presidential Speeches

I've recently been listening to different speeches by different US Presidents. Originally it was because I wanted to improve my speaking ability by listening to Ronald Reagan, who was nicknamed The Great Communicator, and I wanted to know what that was about. Then I started listening to parts of other speeches for a certain project I was working on.   Some of them were at least somewhat interesting to listen to (enthusiastic, passionate), whether or not I agreed with their ideas, but Lyndon B Jo

Photoshop C S 5

Looks amazing. I haven't had an opportunity to preview the launch stuff or really get to see from the many videos what all the suite is supposed to do. All I know is that what Photoshop is supposed to be able to do is remarkable... that would take my photo editing abilities to a whole new level if I could afford the price tag for either one.   Anyone care to give me about a grand, so I can buy it?   ©1984-2010 Toaraga EAM

People Are Insane!

Yeah, that sounds bad, but it's true; keep reading and see what I mean.   As you may know, this year's big ticket item is a tenth anniversary special edition of a red, furry, annoying little monster that laughs. If you don't know, I'm talking about the Tickle Me Elmo TMX. (X is for extreme: it's so original... like XGames and a bunch of other Xtreme things.) Anyway, what's stupid is this thing retails for $40-50, but people are willing to pay in the thousands for this item: someone paid $10,00

Pearl Harbor Day

So it is. And the generation that lived it is dying out. Such is how life goes, yet we pause to reflect on what has gone before.   ©1984-2009 Toaraga EAM

Pearl Harbor Day

It was a sad day indeed (not that I was born yet); something that is more meaningful is that the generation that lived through that is dying out.   ©1984-2007 Toaraga EAM

Paint With All The Colors... Of My Hair

Get the title reference, win a cookie.   Unless you know me in person, you can't see this (and I'm sure pictures wouldn't capture it just right either), but I have all four of the natural colors of hair on my head: blond, brown (both light and dark), black, and red (it's mostly tint). I also have a color that people my age don't usually have: two guesses as to what that is.   Admittedly, I wouldn't change it for a thing, well except for maybe that unnecessary color.   ©1984-2007 Toaraga EAM

Pain Dished Out!

I never realized just how dangerous washing dishes could be.   Actually, it's one of the most boring tasks since boredom was discovered, but Friday night whilst doing this horrible task, a glass cake pan decided to break on me. All I got was what looks like a little scar on my right hand and small spot on my head.   The worst part: I had already cleaned the dish.   FYI, I am experienced at finding the most dangerous way to be injured doing the most mundane tasks without trying. I have gotte

P M Titles, People. A K A Use The Proper Form

Okay, I try to go through PMs in order (based on urgency) and deal with them accordingly, but if I don't know what to expect before opening a PM, it's going to be harder to deal with and take that much longer. I try to separate requests from those that need urgent attention, so sometimes PMs that need attention might get mixed with request PMs.   PMs for RPG requests naturally take the longest to deal with because of all the reading and thinking (and whatnot): I also don't want to have a flood

Owning Up

Oh crud, I pulled a move I like to call "Reverse Than Maneuver."   Yay for human error. If you know what I'm talking about, good for you: you now know that none of us is perfect. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then don't worry about it.   ©1984-2006 Toaraga EAM

Overnight, Outta Sight

It's back to working overnights at Toys 'R Us again and trying to get non-work related stuff done at other times. I actually started back Tuesday, but this shall continue until after Christmas. It'll take a bit of time to adjust to a wonky schedule though, but I'm happy this way. Tired but happy.   ©1984-2009 Toaraga EAM

One Year Later...

Where does the time go? Have I done so little and learned so much, or have I done so much and learned so little? So much has happened since I was first asked to join the staff.   *Cues cheesy flashback music* *Cuts and replaces with a song about memories* *Is told the second song is worse and to stop singing*   Yeah, so much has happened, not just on BZP either, but that's another entry for another day... or you could just read my past entries.   Good times.   ©1984-2007 Toaraga EAM

One Week Away

With Brickfest quickly approaching and not having been online for a couple days, I changed my plans. Instead of keeping all the MOCs to date, I'm going to post the last of them on the Friday of Brickfest. Part of the reasoning is that I wanted to reveal each of these myself before Brickfest and the pics inevitably begin, giving a nice lead up to the big day. But I realized that I didn't want a bunch of MOCs crammed into one of days that leads up to Brickfest (having this spike of MOCs in the

One In A Million?

If there are over six billion (6,000,000,000) people in the world and the original phrase still applies, that means there are well over six thousand (6,000) other me's somewhere out there.   Scary.   So if you find me, let me know. I'll be sure to say, "Hi."   ©1984-2007 Toaraga EAM

On Certain Approval Topics

In case anyone cares, I am currently not approving RPGs or official topics. There are over 30 RPGs in COT covering a variety of interest, and most official topic requests I currently get are for subjects that don't really need one. Anyway, I'll at least try to get around to the requests that are currently in my PM boxes.   Also, I don't speak for Janus or Polo X, so you could ask one of them.   ©1984-2007 Toaraga EAM

Omi Rocks!

Why does Omi rock, you ask? Or you don't ask, but whatever.   Anyway, if you don't like/know anything about Pokémon, you won't care, but once my stuff returns from Brickfest, I'll have a Celebi in my collection. It's the last Pokémon I don't have or wasn't able to get access to.   Next thing you know, they'll call the annual event "Omi Rocks America!"   ©1984-2006 Toaraga EAM
