I reject your drama and substitute my tablescrap. I wish I had more time for building this week, but I've been continuously busy for these past couple of weeks. Thankfully everything is all over now ... well, until the apocalypse. I still haven't ordered that underground bunker ... A few months ago, Brickeens linked me to a peppy Irish song called "My Little Honda 50". While maybe not the best thing starting with "My Little", I was inspired and built something that looked nothing like it, and with Slizer parts for wheels ... This tablescrap has a bit of a backstory. In 2007, I created a series of terrible noobish Doctor Who-based stopmotion films. To film these, I built the TARDIS exterior and interior. The exterior, which I still have around someplace, is terrible. But the interior, which accrued dust over the years, was sort of okay. This week, I rebuilt the portions of it that had fallen into disarray, mostly by patching up places where I'd cannibalized pieces. | | | | |
Well, well, looks like BZP's back already, and just in time for this week's Tablescrap. This week is a monolith from the book/movie "2001: A Space Odyssey". The dimensions in the book state that a monolith is 1:4:9, the squares of the first three numbers. I did my best to recreate this. (excuse the slight blurriness, my camera wanted to act obese) The monolith appeared at BrickFair 2011, but I didn't want to make a full-blown topic for it. For the past two years of BrickFair Virginia, BZP members have trekked over to the Laser Tag establishment just a short walk from the convention center in order to shoot at friends and strangers alike. I cannot speak for the initial 2011 installment, but this year there were a bunch of little kids running around in the place, screaming and carrying on, mad as heck at the fact that you're shooting them. Two days until the first anniversary of the Tuesday Tablescraps. | | | | I have mixed feelings on this guy. The legs are decent and the arms are alright, but I nearly gave up on the torso. It has no shaping whatsoever, and I tinkered with it for a good while. I'll probably revisit this guy and the Gold Bot later on, especially since I've discovered a stash of gold KK armor that I can use on him.
One day late. So sue me. This tablescrap exists because of Daiker, due to his entry on the matter posted before the downtime. I think I'm the only person to remember it in the downtime, so I used the part - that I ordered - in Daiker. Alternate view (I had other pictures, but they ended up corrupted. Strange.) The buck teeth are held in place by a minifigure magnifying glass. No other solution held the part in place as well as that one did.
I feel bad I missed a few weeks in there, but we're back now, ladies and gentlemen. | It fits my hand and can shoot fairly accurately over some long distances.
