Toa Vs. Toa

Not talking about the Tale of the Toa chapter here.   My question is this: who would win in a fair battle, the Toa of Win, the Toa of Fail, or the Toa of Epic?   VOTES:   Toa of Win - 1 ----ChocolateFrogs   Toa of Fail - 1 ----Cholie   Toa of Epic - 2 ----Kohrak Kal17 ----Burnmad: Toa of Emoticons   -=< >=-

To Mr. Farshtey:

I propose a Toa of Fail.   He can make anything pure fail.   He wears the Kanohi Epifal, Mask of Epic. When combined with his elemental power, he can create a concentrated beam of EPIC FAIL.   Savvy?   -=< >=-

To Beard or Not To Beard

BrickFair is coming up and I currently have this beard. I can either keep growing it or get rid of it.   It'll get bigger before the 'Fair but D.C. is freaking hot that time of year and I don't know what kind of slap insulation it'd provide. (Also it's kind of strange how I don't really get any on my cheeks.)   This isn't a poll ... unless almost everyone wants me to keep the thing for one reason or another, in which case I'd bow to the collective wish.

Titan Mata Nui Isn't Such A Bad Set

I can only find two problems: the pistons on his lower body and his lower legs.   Yeah, my order came.   Saw TLR today also, COME BACK BRICKEENS THERE AREN'T ANY SPOILERS!   *ahem*   TLR was actually much more epic and much, much funnier than I had anticipated. I am eagerly awaiting what goodies Tinseltown will produce in 2010 and 2011.   Currently, I'm building the System set I ordered, the City modular-style Fire Brigade. I've been too near the floor for too longm and I'm starting to get

Time's Silly Tricks

Once you just get accustomed to living in one year, bam, it's the next.   And once you get accustomed to being either in or out of Daylight Savings Time, bam, it switches. (This is magnified if you live near a time-space warp, such as a wormhole, black hole, closed timelike curve, or the state of Indiana.)   I don't know. Maybe I'm just slow to change?

Thursday Thoughts

Welcome to Thursday Thoughts, an all-new category for my weekly Thursday entries.   First, happy thanksgiving.   Bionicle: We've had a lot to be thankful for with Bionicle all of these years. We should spend more time thinking about the length of the line as compared to other themes, and not bashing TLG for getting rid of the sets. Which is all they did, really, since the storyline is still continuing, and in a bit we'll get new sets with new parts, without the Bionicle story. So it's really n

Through the Oven

Our alarms went off at 4:00 in the morning and we dragged ourselves out of bed as fast as our bodies would let us. The temperature when we left at 4:40 was 73º. By 5:15, we could see the sun as it began to rise behind the clouds to the east as the temperature dropped to 60º. We went through the bottommost portion of the Sierra Nevada range.   We passed an immense wind farm after 5:30 and the sun had already heated our surroundings to 81º. With the temperatures expected to get to possible record-

Three Years

I am the first to admit that the time I spent on the old forums was time spent as a noob in nearly every regard, but I joined when I was only ten, so my zealous enthusiasm for BIONICLE, the site, and literally any member I thought was cool has an explanation.   When the forums came back, I felt like I'd grown quite a bit in many ways. I still didn't really know what I was doing or what I'd be doing in the future—aren't we all adrift in that regard?—but I felt more confident about my life.   Life

Three Hours of Sleep

SUMIKI'S PAST 24 HOURS: A DRAMATIC LOG   Midnight: Reading in bed. Allergies begin. Reading ceases.   1:00 AM: Allergies still continue.   2:00 AM: Finally asleep.   3:30 AM: Wake up to a huge flash of lightning and massive crash of thunder. Walls shake and windows are vigorously rattling.   3:45 AM: Unable to return to sleep. Get up to close blinds and check the weather online. Mom comes up, awakened as well by the bomb-like sound of the storm.   4:00 AM: Back in bed, but unable to sleep. Light

Thoughts on Grammar

Perhaps I've always been wrong.   I've always been one to really notice when other people don't use proper grammar. I blame my mother for this. To us both, seeing something grammatically incorrect is like hearing fingernails being dragged across a blackboard.   Yet over the years we've both been put into a great many positions where this has caused problems. It mortifies me when I look back at tracts of writing and find errors, and I'm one to extensively rewrite and proofread everything I write

Thoreau-breds

We left the labyrinth disguised as a hotel at 11:00, having traversed 1031.5 miles at that point. By 11:22 we'd found our first stop at the Lexington Commons, site of the first skirmish of the Revolutionary War. Green troops on both sides panicked after hearing a gunshot somewhere, and began opening fire around the Commons. Only a handful of people were even harmed, but it nonetheless marked the beginning of the Revolution.   We visited the tavern across from the Commons, which houses the origin

This Whole "ḶΕĠΟ Minecraft" Business

I don't care one way or another about a potential line/sets of this nature, but what I really don't get is why some members are so dead-set against the notion.   If you don't like a line, don't complain about it to other people who can't/won't do anything about it - just don't purchase those sets.   Yes. It's really that simple.   I have not seen such backlash against a line since BIONICLE's sets got axed, and while it's on a considerably smaller scale, I don't understand it.   Let's be realisti
