Space Police Summer Teaser Pictures

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you the first SPACE POLICE pictures!   And before you post and report me, please know that these are not leaked. These pictures come from a banner hung in LEGOLAND California that says "Coming Summer 2009."   Without further ado...     This is the quote from the guy who took the pictures: -Sidorak-

Who Plays A Musical Instrument?

Republished to add a few things.   If you play the recorder, give yourself 1 point.   If you play the piano, give yourself 3 points.   If you play a woodwind instrument, give yourself 4 points.   If you play a brass instrument, give yourself 5 points.   If you play the trumpet, give yourself 10 points.   If you play a string instrument, subtract 20 points.   If you play a pit instrument, give yourself over 9000 points.   If you have ever tried out for American Idol, you have negative inf

Hi

I'm been so bogged down with school and other activities that I've had no time to log on here. Now that everything's settling down I figured I'd check in...   I spent the last 5 weekends (from Thanksgiving to Christmas) playing with the Metrolink Toy Train band. Each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we rode the train to 3-5 different train stations throughout Southern California and played for hundreds (sometimes thousands) of people. The songs we played were pretty generic, but fun nevertheless. I

If all the world is a stage, where is the audience sitting?   5. Well, if crime fighters fight crime and fire fighters fight fire, then what do freedom fighters fight?   6. Valentine's Day

Was uneventful for me. I am not a playa.   However, my sister brought home those little hearts with cute messages written on them that taste like chalk. (Incidentally, I discovered that they can actually be used as chalk in 5th grade.) They reminded me of the time my friend and I took a box of them, dumped all the hearts out, wrote nasty messages on all of them in red pen, put them all back in, and gave them to a girl we didn't like.   -Sidorak-

Mistika $3 Price Increase

What do you guys think about the Mistika's $3 price increase?   Personally, I'll be waiting until 2009 to buy the sets on clearance. $13 for a canister set is too much for me. Today I bought 4 Barraki for $5 each.   ~Sidorak The Hunter

Los Angeles Lego Convention

Has anybody been to a Lego convention in LA? Bricks LA was the top Google result.   I always enjoyed looking at pics of displays from conventions around the world. I never attended one, though. I think it might be fun to swing by Bricks LA this January. I live within driving distance of the venue. Any advice or tips from experienced convention attendees?

Cheeseburgers

How come when you go to a restaurant, the menu can't merely say, "cheeseburger?" They have to get wordy and fancy. I say, go along with them. When you order your food, use their language. Look your waiter in the eye and say, "I'll have the succulent, fresh-ground, government-inspected, choice, all-beef, six-ounce patty on your own award-winning sesame-seed bun, topped with a generous slice of Wisconsin's finest Grade-A cheddar cheese made from only premium milk and poured from large, galvanized

Questions, Part 2

11. At the airport, what does it mean to "pre-board" the plane? To get on before you get on?   12. If you try to fail, and succeed, which have you done?   13. If you ate pasta and antipasto, would you still be hungry?   14. What was the best thing before sliced bread?   15. Would a fly without wings be called a walk?   16. If a turtle doesn't have a shell, is he homeless or naked?   17. If a man is speaking in the middle of the forest, and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still

Is It Just Me, Or...

Do we get a "Which Member Do You See Most Often?" topic in General Discussion every few days?   And there's always several members who make the same old joke. You know the one, "I always see [their display name here]! That guy follows me everywhere!"   -Sidorak-

Smoking

I have a friend who started smoking. I'd like to talk to him about it -- any suggestions on what I might say?   Thanks.   ~Sidorak The Hunter   (Republished 1/20 because this is important to me.)

6 Years

I just posted in Q&A and saw a spinning blue Faxon next to my post. I can't believe it's been 6 years, I still remember the day I joined, back on my old slow Windows 98 computer. BZP was my first internet message board experience (the official LEGO ones don't count ), and I've learned quite a lot on here, about BIONICLE, about the internet, and about writing.   Let's take a look at some of my first posts.   What insightful feedback. My complex, well-thought out theory. No comment.

All You Can Eat Buffet

A funny thing happened to my cousin today...   I was out with my cousins for dinner at an all-you-can-eat buffet. Each one of us probably went back to the buffet 2 or 3 times, but my oldest cousin went back again... and again... and again. I mean, each time he piled mounds of food on his plate? The rest of us were sure he would eventually get full, but his stomach is apparently a bottomless pit. (And he's a thin guy! ) We had been at the restaurant for nearly 2 hours when the manager approached

Br's Moving Sale

I'm very excited for this.   I can get sets elsewhere, and banners, and posters and books don't interest me too much, but I have a feeling the collectibles will be really cool. I'm hoping for some VMKK to be available, there will likely be a WMKK in there, a few Misprints, complete Kanohi sets, and that last unknown item sounds really interesting.   EDIT: Wow, the Green System Hau auction just jumped from $1.00 to $25.00 in a matter of seconds!   -Sidorak-
