Clean...

It's rainy outside, cold, and in the middle of December.   My dad made me wash the car today?   Let me repeat that it is the middle of December.   And we do not live in California.   I used lots of hot water, yet I still got drenched. Luckily, it didn't rain. The car will just get muddy again when they take it out next, though.

Musical Blog

Yay, new sidebars up, featuring personally rendered artwork that kinda coincides with some of my favorite songs. Enjoy, because I'm tired and my laptop battery is about to die...

Review 70620: Ninjago City - Level 2 B

Onto the second half of the second level of Ninjago City. This level features the fashion store, another extension of the elevator, and an abandoned room with the bonsai tree growing out of it. And I also decided to add Lloyd and Koko's house to this section, although it's technically part of the third level.     The main feature here is the fashion store, where they're selling a bunch of hats, as well as cell phones and a skateboard and a few other small things. (Basically, I think they rummag

Review 70620: Ninjago City - Level 3

I have finished the Ninjago City model, so one last rambling of thoughts on it. The third and top level here consists of the rooftop sushi restaurant and the radio tower.     The Sushi restaurant isn't too extravagant, because it is just sitting atop a rooftop. The edged of the curved roof are nice, with the two straight bits being made of door pieces. (One side is right hand doors, the other is left hand doors, so if you part this set out, you've have a full set of matching pairs.) There's ple

Buzz Lightyear Set

I got this set today. I noticed that it was on sale, and I thought it had some useful pieces (and some in purple) so i decided to pick it up.   What I wasn't expecting was the model to be so... good! I bought a few other humanoid system sets at BrickFair, and they were mediocre in design. But Buzz... all the slopes are placed so well that he looks awesome and totally realistic. And although he comes with some stickers, the Star Command logo is printed on the tile, which is great. And the h

Moar Shopping Today

I braved the mall today. Yes, on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't too bad; it was crowded but I managed to get by. I have developed a very efficient method of passing through crowds, which includes lots of sudden turns and fast walking and dodging around people, ext. If I were a driver on the road, I would surely get pulled over for reckless endangerment. As it is, I only nearly ran into one guy, and that's because he also made a quick turn and tried to walk down the same aisle I was turni

Tally The Votes

Monster / Titan Contest   My entries   MOC: 0 votes. Pretty standard.   Story: 4 votes. Dunno what people were thinking, but it apparently ties me in second...?   Art: 4 votes. Again. Technically it's 4th place? But there were clearly some better things there, and they got their votes deservingly.   Games: 7 votes? WHA? At the very least, this means that I should actually try and make that game. Totes wasn't expecting that.   Again, all in all, there were some epic entries in all the cat

Nostalgia Voting

If you like the good old days and would like to vote for a remake of a popular Matoran, you may want to check out BBC 41 Poll E, and check out my entry. Or, if you are voting based on design, you may also want to look at a few of the other entries as well.   I'm kinda surprised, really. I've gotten 8 votes real quick-like. That's more than some of my other entries, and it's only the first day.   I predict I'll get really close, but lose, and then say something on the board that makes me loo

Review: Lasha's Bite Cycle

(Click For Link)   Yay, another Ninjago Review! Last one from me (for this year at least.) Unless somebody wants to send me the Ultimate 4-Headed Dragon Battle set to review (and keep.) That is such an epic set and I want it but I don't really have money and if I do buy a large set this year it's going to be Helms Deep.   Also, with this set I now have Cole ZX, which means that I have a complete set of Ninja. (Well, missing the green one, if you count him, but I'll grab his spinner pack when

Second Is The Best...

Not in the prelim polls, though, but it's good enough for me. 20 votes over all, 19 other people who liked the MOC over all others, and me. Not bad.   I have noticed an increase in votes for my creations in the last few contests I've entered. So instead of getting hardly noticed, I end up trailing behind first place, but with a lot more votes than previous contests. Maybe I'm getting to be a better MOCist, maybe the competition is slacking off (probably not) but I'm feeling better about my

Evilness In Paper...

Tonight just is not my night. This weekend hasn't been a great weekend. Uhg.   Anyway, tonight I'm struggling to write this paper. I have some basic ideas, but I just don't know where to begin. Typically, it's due tomorrow.   And what's even worst is that I shouldn't have to write it either...   It's for a drama class... I already struggled through one paper on a performance last week. But we were suppose to be able to get out of writing the second paper if we ushered for a play... basic

C S E 142

I thought the HW was gonna be hard. It looked hard. The prof. said it was hard (or that it was much harder than our previous assignments)   Thing was freakin' easy. I knew what I wanted to do, I typed in the code, and it actually worked.   I wish my physics and math homework would go so well...   Anyway, my head feels like it's about to implode... and that's just the pressure from the cold. It's not exactly a head ache... but it's still distracting. On the bright side, the sore throat w

Jimmy Eat World and Story Updates

I dunno how common place they are, but I've been listening to the band Jimmy Eat World lately. Also, their band name.   I mean, I originally had their album back in 2001, which was I guess their breakout album? (And I had it on CD! For those too young to remember, that's how we used to store our music... which was a step up from cassettes, which were a step from records, ext... okay really CDs aren't that old of a technology.) But while I was a fan of their music then, I wasn't really following

Shanghai Chase = Fred Meyers Fail

Fred Meyers has rarely let me down price wise. They don't get the newer sets until months after their release, but they tend to have a ton of good sales. So there currently was a 20% off deal, and I decided I wanted the Indiana Jones Shanghai Chase set. They had it in stock, but something was wrong.   It was priced $49.99.   Lego.com's price is $29.99.   But it was on sale, so it was really $39.99.     I checked with a cashier. That was the correct price for the set.   Okay, so Fred M

Broke

So how does my first day of Spring Break begin?   By me picking up my glass and having them snap in half.   D:   Seriously, I have no idea why they broke, except that I guess they were old. But they weren't under any stress or anything... anyway, I panicked on Saturday because my regular eye glass place would be closed until Tuesday, and I had plans that required me to do a lot of driving, ext, and I wasn't going to do that without glasses. (My vision isn't bad, but it's not good enough that I

Ninjago Mosaic?

This might be my next mosaic project, based on one of my favorite scenes from the skybound season. I'm not 100% behind the background design... I may need to add subtle details to the buildings and maybe a few more clouds. But I think it could be a fun mosaic.

Review: Crystal Beast vs Bulk

Click here for full review   Hey look another Hero Factory set review!   Just pulled an all-nighter getting this one uploaded. Partially because my internet has been off all day and only came back on around 10 PM. Like, seriously, I'm paying monthly and the Internet provider just can't give me service in the middle of the day! I called em and they said they're working on a "service issue" on their end but it's still lame. (And I've already complained about this elsewhere. A lot.) To be fair, I d

Best Lego Sets of 2018

2018 has been an interesting year for me for Lego. I generally bought fewer sets compared to the last four years, but my budget was dominated by a couple of large purchases this summer, thus forcing me to hold out on buying a lot of sets in the second half of the year. I’ve also bought a couple of sets that I have yet to open, which is a strategy I haven’t applied before. (Usually I build any set I get soon after purchase. But this year, I bought a few sets exclusively for the pieces, and I want

Hiking "do"s And "probably-shouldn't"s

Yay, I just got back from a brutal 50 Mile Hike with my scout troop. The one I did two years ago was fun and exciting, but this one was a lot harder. Lots of uphill and steep down hills, plus some rain. And I thought I had a pretty good grasp on hiking techniques (you know, for a scout) but I was WRONG. Here are some tips that I just feel like posting. Bring a fleece. And a rain jacket. It will seem heavy when you try to put it into your pack, but it sure beats freezing on top of a mountai

Music Images

Image descriptions, from left to right, then down a row...   We Didn't Start The Fire   Probably the one I put the most effort into. I wanted the world to be surrounded by flames, as suggested by the song... and I included the twin character there because his weapons are Fire-Balls, basically handheld orbs that shoot fire. It seems appropriate. Anyway, the flames were a little tricky, and I still don't think I got a natural curve to them. The globe is cool... I was able to draw all that ge

Oh Hey, It's The 17th

What is that now, Furno's spinning head?   Anyway, this is my... (2015-2003) ... twelfth BZP anniversary. You can try to get rid of me, but I just won't leave.   And since I might as well update something... in regards to my BZP story, no I have not forgotten about it, I've just been focusing on a bunch of other projects (some voluntarily, others not so much.) But it will continue!   Anybody care? No. Oh well. Also, Gali mosaic for Bricks Cascade! I'll do a quick update of it (eventually) and th

Haunt Your House...

Well, I was going to go on a scout trip this weekend, but I have a ton of homework to get through. I would do it after school, but my drama class gets to be apart of the schools Haunted House, so we'll be doing that in the evenings next week. The planning we've done has been really cool so far, and I can't wait to get in it. It's suppose to be one of the bigger haunted houses in our state... it fills up the school's entire Multi-Purpose Room. (Much to the displeasure of my drama class... we'

Must... Update...

OMG I haven't posted anything here for so long. (Like, what four days!) I've been on BZP and posted news and stuff, but I haven't gotten around to typing anything interesting.   I have some plans, yes. I need to do a review for a certain summer set (It's Stronius, to kill any suspicion) And I also want to start up on one of my epics again... I was going to this weekend but time seems to have slipped away (it slipped awaaaaaay) That, and I'm starting to play Halo 3 with my roomie and his fr

Come Around Again...

I've been pretty sad this week so far. But life goes on. I can't think of anything meaningful to post, but I want to post something. So, anyway, here's a song I've been listening to lately. It kinda matches my mood. Plus, it kinda tells you my taste in music.   Come Around Again ~ Jet   Yeah I'm waitin' for you, it's been so long...   Yeah I'm waitin'. For you, it's been so long I'm sad when I'm on my own They said it takes a long, long time If it's not too much Could you hear me no
