The Orange Figure Approached...

~ From Takanuva's Latest Blog Entry ~   " He (Pohatu) looked me up and down for a moment, before saying, "I can't say I think much of the color change." "You should talk," I (Takanuva) replied. "You're orange." "Yes, but I wear it well," Pohatu said with a grin. "   First of all, I love the very fast updates. Twice a week, as far as I can tell.   Secondly, I love all of Greg's references to BZP's griping in his writing (well, maybe not BZP's, but older fan complains that you hear alot of

The New Piraka Animation

Hey, I liked it. It was better than the Hordika ones last year, and about equal with the Vahki ones. There were plenty of scenes I liked from it, and I took the time to make a collection of screen shots. Some of my favorites are...   The scenery of Voya-Nui. Even if it was the green belt, Voya-Nui isn't looking like that bad of a place. Kinda nice from that angle.   Water on Voya-Nui? Even though I bet it isn't official (makes it feel more tropical) I still found that ironic. Maybe the

The Mouse Is Dead!

I found that the homework I've been putting off is rather difficult. Worst, so is navigating on my computer without a mouse.   You see, I have a nice laptop, and to go along with it, I bought a cheap wireless mouse because I hate the touch pads (almost as much as I hate laptop keyboards) Well, my wired keyboard addition is great for typing and everything, and hooks directly to the computer, so no need for a battery. But the mouse is a different story. Earlier today, as I was starting to loo

The Many Forms Of Me.

Okay, I went to the NW Brickon today. I struck it rich this year for Lego conventions. When I was down by Portland, there was an event in Portland... when it's in Seattle, I happen to be in the city. (Which was good, because I was able to make a delivery that came too late for Brickfest 07, so I delivered it today). The MOCs were, as usual, amazing. I've seen alot of nice usage of pieces, as well as some of the new 07 pieces in action (from the Toa Mahri/ Titans). Yeah, from what I could

The Mahri Are Toast.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «Greg keeps dropping hint after hint that some Toa are gonna croak it. In TN's blog, a few times he's mentioned the fact that the Mahri were still in danger (like we didn't already know) and Dume wasn't to honor the Toa who died. Well, I think he's speaking in the plural, even if he didn't say Toas, so it's probably not just Matoro (who already had his party, anyway). And there was a hint in Final Battle that was along the same lines. So, I be

The Loot

Well, I didn't get a whole lot... I heard a bunch about "helping you survive through college" and stuff. But I got a few good ones...   I got a vest and some candy and a book. The best was the Lego Indiana Jones game... Apparently my sister found it at the mall without a proper case, so she got a good deal on it. I haven't played it too much (I also forgot my control pad at my dorm room) but it looks to be really fun to complete at first. (I've played the demo enough to know how to do m

The Lego Store

I finally found out where my local Lego store is!   Sure, it's an hour away on the opposite end of Portland, but still, it's closer than the one in Seattle.   Anyway, I got to see a whole lot of sets, some of the little extras Lego makes that aren't sold elsewhere, and got to see the Barakki. I saw exactly how Ehlek is built... so the next time I can get my hands on him, he's mine! Coincidentlly, there were three sets of Barakki models on display around the stores, but they're sold out at

The LEGO Movie: Characters

Hey guys so yesterday I finally saw The LEGO Movie!   Everybody: We’ve already seen it!   Okay, so much for just bragging. Anyway, I was planning to do a short review of how well the various sets were incorporated in the movie, since previous movie tie ins (Iron Man III) were pretty bad. But there were so many Lego Movie sets that some would surely get more screen time than others. Except. . . well, Brickset already posted an article on that. So instead here’s a not-exactly-comprehensive lis

The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures

It should be fairly obvious that I have an obsession with collecting figs, and when I heard that stores in my area were releasing them early, I kinda jumped on it. The first store I visited didn’t have any, but the second one had a small selection, and I was able to grab 9 of the ones I wanted.     First I want to address the bag issues. It was rumored that these figs were going to be double bagged like the UniKitty figs, which makes it difficult to tell them apart. But based on my selection, n

The Lego Bionicle Story

The Lego Bionicle Story: Part 1-2,Part 3-4,Part 5   Gar, my worst story EVER! Read on to understand why...   Bio: In the Bionicle world, the Great Beings has messed up, and the Toa were doomed. They planned on sending help in the form of Throwbots to aid the Toa against their fight against Makuta and his Rahi, but they wouldn't arrive in time. So they sent messages to humans, and a bunch went through the Bermuda Triangle and arrived on Mata-Nui. There, a collection of humans, including Joh

The Legend Reborn

Is mine. All mine! My precious...     Yes, Fred Meyers didn't advertise it or anything, but they gave me this at 25% off the retail price. My other choice was Borders... they have a coupon you can print on their website that gives you 25% off any one purchase. But my closest Borders didn't have the book in, and I wasn't going to wait. You see, I'm diagnosed with impatience. It runs deep in my family. There is no cure, but I can get treatments... like buying TLR the day it comes out.

The Last Bionicle Movie

OMG Spoilers!   » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «So Vakama turns mean and betrays his fellow Hordika and joins the Visorak. But the other Hordika find Keetongu, who smashes Sidorak, and Matau convinced Vakama to come back. They super blast Roodaka, but accidentally free Makuta and she gets sucked into some sort of shadow warp or something. (Does she die? It's so confusing) But apparently it's a happy ending.      What, you think I've seen TLR yet? Even if I had (I hav

The Internet Pays Off!

Although I can't discuss the site in question (and it isn't the only site... I visit others like it too) I am finding the usefulness of online videos. Mostly it's to engage my nostalgia (and yes, I liked things other than Bionicle in 01) I've found it very fun to find old 90s television shows and re watch them... like the entire series.   I'm currently re watching old Power Ranger episodes. The original, Mighty Morphing ones. The fighting is not as cool as it was when I was watching it 15

The Iliad And Other Literary Works...

Yay, back from a week long vacation away from all computer devices! Well, I still got to read and listen to the radio, so it wasn't so bad. I got a start on Homer's The Iliad for my Summer Reading, and I must say, it's a rather violent book. The first hundred pages mainly consist of people fighting and details on how they die, along with some gods and goddesses intervening and the such. So I guess it's not that bad as ancient writings go...   And while listening to the radio, I heard a Beet

The Ideal Gas Law...

I just used this as a lame joke in <dd>'s blog, and that got me thinking of another lame joke that could take up a whole entry in MY BLOG! How could I resist, really? Besides, I have nothing else to add besides complaining....   As you should know, the Ideal Gas Law is...   PV=nRT  Here's how it applies to college life.   (Peer Pressure) * (Volume of Homework) = (Number of pounds I've gained by eating way too much greasy food) * (constant stress) * (temperature of fever)     Okay

The Hobbit, In Brief

Honestly, there's so much I could say about the Hobbit, both good and bad. But I'm really not in the mood to write all about it, so I'll keep it short.   It does a good job of keeping the feel from the LotR movies, but it also seems to be lacking some of the majesty. This may just be because it's the first; after all, Fellowship was arguably the worst of the three LotR movies. (And it was still pretty good.) The same here.   It's also different because they're including so much. In LotRs, t

The Greens Are Under Attack!

Okay, I’ve brought this topic up a few times, but I want to make a blog about it now.   Question in point: When was the last time you ever saw a bright green piece in Bionicle?   First, let’s get the colors straight. Bright Green = Lewa’s primary color, as well as the primary color for the Lehvak and Lerahk. The basic shade of green that’s seen in Lego bricks elsewhere. Thus, my favorite shade of green. I call it bright green because, back in the day, there was this program on Bionicle.co

The Final Battle

The last book to describe the epic adventure we've been witnessing for 8 years. The end all to end all. Good verses evil. Toa verses Makuta. Will Mata-Nui awake or die? Which character will have the final say... and will it be a bad joke or something?   Well, if you haven't read Bionicle Legends 11, The Final Battle, then obviously... well, you haven't purchased it and read it yet, which is pretty likely, as maybe the book hasn't come out to where you live, or it doesn't come out there at

The Final Alliance

The Final Alliance   My first Epic ever on BZPower. It was also an entry into Serious Story Contest #4 (and didn't place). So here are my thoughts on it.   Bio: The Final Alliance takes place during the Kal saga. It follows the Toa Nuva as the Kal successfully reawaken the Bahrag… but they awaken somebody else too… Makuta! The Bahrag take their Bohrok swarms and threaten to demolish all of Mata-Nui, leaving behind six Matoran (Jala, Takua, Huki, Nuparu, Maku, and Hahli) fused as a Matoran-

The Fallen Have Their Revenge

Well, kinda sorta.   I went to see Revenge of the Fallen tonight. AKA Transformers II. Had lots of big scary robots and stuff in the trailers... maybe you've heard of it. I aimed for a late night showing, because I wasn't motivated to leave my room for a matinee, and I *thought* that student discounts only started after 6. (Last time, I went before 6, and they were all like, no, we don't have them this early) But... they don't do them on the weekends... aka Friday or Saturday. You see, th

The Cup!

I thought Coca Cola's new compostable cups were pretty cool. The old cups were about the only thing that weren't compostable in the dining areas... so Coca Cola's trademark was under the lable "Trash."   So now they've gone green, with cups made out of recycled compostable material and stuff. Cool idea.   But was it really worth having a special speech by the University's president on the introduction of the conpostable cup? No, really, a speech about a cup? A blog entry, maybe, but sh

The Bzp Shutdown Of 09

Hopefully this'll be the one and only big shutdown.   If this was a malicious attack, I don't get it. Who really cares so much about a children's toy website?   Anyway, I was left in the dark for the shutdown, as I came to realize I spend alot of time on BZP, and other sites just don't cut it. In the blackout I also spent time ordering Lego bricks, which is starting to deplete my bank account. I really hate this time right now because I don't have the money, but I also don't have the pa

The Bohrok Are Revolutionary!

Well, maybe, so here are my thoughts…   I was just viewing this topic , asking what was your least favorite year. I answered 2005, and listed my reasons. Other people voted for other years too, because they have this oddity that I call “different opinions” that I just don’t quite understand but will have deal with anyway. Anyways, as I saw the results, I saw that 2001 didn’t get any votes (yeah, the first year of Bionicle bombed so badly that I stayed tune because I knew it could only get

The Board And The Blog

Yes, yes, paranoid people copy their posts before they hit "post new entry." I do that half the time myself, but sometimes I'm just so eager that I forget, and then the Board Message looms down on me like a dark cloud... or an evil pinkish message that no longer has cool jokes in it.   But here's what irks me.   I post in a topic, and I get the board message. Sometimes, I can backspace, and get the original post all written out still, where I then copy and paste. Or, sometimes, I can't get

The Beast Within

That new Island Assult game, besides being too difficult for me to play, seems to have hidden images in it. I think Lego has something coming up in Bionicle that involves... a bear!   See the evidence for yourself.   Yes, there is no doubt that the shadowy bear is to be the next big thing happening on Voya-Nui. Maybe they must wake the bear from its hibernation to reawake Mata-Nui... or maybe it's all a coincidence? Who can tell?   No me.
