Hooray

I'm on the train now, so here goes the last leg of the journey. Trains are pretty pleasant compared to planes and buses.

Actual Life Update

I realised a while ago that it's been something like three, four years since I've really been active on BZP. 2012 was the last year I was actually doing things here, and since then all I've done is visit the blogs every day out of habit, as well as make the odd post here. It feels so strange because BZP was my internet home for so long, and now I hardly know what happens here.   It would be great to say that I've just moved on or have been doing things in life, but it hasn't really been like tha

Health And Things

So a lot has changed this year. I'm much stronger than I was in 2010/2011. I still feel a long way from being normal, but some headway is better than none and at the moment things are looking more hopeful than they have in a long time.   Earlier in the year one of my doctors put me on antifungal medication on the hunch that I might have a yeast overgrowth in my digestive system. Lo and behold, the medication made me feel significantly better. In June, I started running, and by July, I was runnin

A little bit of photography

So that's a tiny adorable little mushroom I found at the start of December. I wish the picture wasn't so dark, but the light was really poor and I had to shoot using very high ISO, and it was already so grainy I didn't want to go higher. I went back the next day when there was better light, but unfortunately the teensy thing had collapsed. I'm still quite fond of the picture even if it would have been greatly improved by better lighting conditions.

Brickfair

Because Zatth and Sumiki are the sweetest people ever, I may be getting a video tour of Brickfair at some point the next few days. So if you see someone being ferried around on an iPad, that's probably me and you should say hello. I wonder if I should be writing out some messages on pieces of paper or something.

Day 4

Well, guess what's back. While I'm on the diet I can't take a sort of Omega-3 oil, which is what prevents me from suffering from the aforementioned syndrome. I can get some in the salmon I'm eating, but it doesn't seem to be enough.

I made a tiny MOC

I thought I'd make something for Sumiki's 20-pieces contest, so I threw this together a couple of days ago. It would probably be a lot better with arms and a torso that isn't a stick, but I got so carried away when I was making the legs that by the time I got to the torso I only had six pieces left.   ANYWAY gasp shock horror, I made something! I'm not totally dead.

Non Timed Entry

Our plane aborted on takeoff. There's something wrong with one engine and we all had to disembark. The airline doesn't know what's going to happen - if they can fix the engine we might be able to fly in a couple of hours, if not, I don't know. Not a great start to the trip.

Six months in, and poor news

Quick recap, six months ago I got pretty much the best thing that's ever happened to me, which was a sort-of diagnosis from the metabolic unit in Dublin. What they found is that I have SOME FORM of fatty-acid metabolism disorder, which is good, but it's not really a diagnosis in itself, because there's a big range of the disorders and I could have any one of them. Because of that, treatment so far has been extremely limited.   In a nutshell though, the problem is this: I can't metabolise fat pro
