Entries in this blog

Hello There

I meant to make a blog entry about the last day of Brickfair and all the rest last night, but I didn't get a chance. I'll write one or two entries about everything once I'm back at home in Ireland.   I'm sitting in Dulles International Airport right now and if things are on time I should be boarding the plane soon and departing a little after 10PM local time. I should arrive in Dublin at around 10AM Irish time, and after that there'll be 5-6 more hours of buses and trains to get home. I sure ho

Heating

I don't think our house's heating is working today, because I'm wearing a coat to keep warm in here.

Health news as usual

So I had blood taken last week to test my creatine kinase levels, which are muscle enzymes or something. Wikipedia will explain better than I can. The results came back, and my levels aren't normal at all. My doctors don't know what this means, so I'm being referred to a specialist who will hopefully be able to figure things out from there.   I guess this would be bad news to most, but frankly, I'm really glad they've found something wrong, because this might offer some explanation as to why I'v

Health And Things Part 2

Continuing from here, things have changed yet again. The good news is, the yeast is busted. Apparently I've been on such a strong dose of medication there can't possibly be any left. The bad news is, I'm still not better, so there are further problems. My doctor says it's quite likely that the yeast infection caused me to develop allergic reactions to foods. This isn't as terrible as it sounds, because if this is the case the allergies will be curable, unlike some other food allergies I have.

Health And Things

So a lot has changed this year. I'm much stronger than I was in 2010/2011. I still feel a long way from being normal, but some headway is better than none and at the moment things are looking more hopeful than they have in a long time.   Earlier in the year one of my doctors put me on antifungal medication on the hunch that I might have a yeast overgrowth in my digestive system. Lo and behold, the medication made me feel significantly better. In June, I started running, and by July, I was runnin

Health

Well, this is the last thing I expected, but the last two days, I've been feeling really bad, and the symptoms I'm experiencing are pretty much unmistakeably the symptoms I experienced when I had ME/CFS a child. I've mentioned it before, but basically it was awful, lasted four years, and was pretty much the worst thing that ever happened to me.   And suddenly out of nowhere I'm getting the symptoms back. Ever since I recovered (recovered is a strong word seeing as I was never really the same sin

Happy Happy

Continuing on from last week, something really unexpected happened today. The girl I knew very well from primary school actually came and sat beside me on the bus today, and we talked all the way home.   I can't really describe how happy I am now that this has happened, so I think I'll just finish with this gif.

Halloween

I'm on the other side of the country at the moment with my grandparents, which unfortunately means I miss out on all the Halloween fun this year, but no matter. Have a good Nightmare Night.

Great and not great

This happened a while ago, but basically, a guy I know straight up offered me a job in his photography shop. He said he's having trouble doing all the work himself and that he'd teach me how to edit, print and frame photographs to a professional standard. It was an amazing offer, because I mean, it's not every day you just get offered a job, let alone a job you'd actually enjoy.   But of course I couldn't take it. I can still hardly cope with basic day to day life and there's no way I'd last wor

Good News I Think

I've stopped getting sharp head pains now, and I think I'm beginning to feel a little stronger. I shouldn't jump to conclusions, but it might mean I'm getting used to the medication. I sure hope I am anyway.

Good Morning

This is weird, I'm actually in the same time zone as a lot of people here. Me and dad are just leaving our hotel and will be arriving at Sumiki's house in approximately four and a half hours.

Fog

I've said this before, but I really love fog. In fact, I guess I love anything that makes things mysterious or beautiful. I think I'm going to have to write a separate entry about types of environment that give me lovely feelings.

First Try

I took a Nuva-style approach to this one. And well, uh, she probably doesn't even look female because I'm still that bad. Maybe the sand blue will distract you. And the scarf.

Every time I stand up I get a sharp, stabbing pain down the right side of my head.

Environments and Atmosphere

All I really want to do here is describe some environments and atmospheres that I really like and that really give me feelings. (I can't be the only one.) Get away while you still can.   I'll start with fog. When I see fog... I just want to go off and get lost in it, hide in it, run in it, explore in it. It can bring mystery and beauty anywhere. An ideal fog situation for me would be in a large, grassy, slightly wooded, cold, rocky area at dusk. Exploring that with friends would make me so happy

Education

I love how one of the most important aspects my life just ends up being my ruin.
