First Try Entry posted by Brickeens April 19, 2012 295 views Share
 Followers 0 I took a Nuva-style approach to this one. And well, uh, she probably doesn't even look female because I'm still that bad. Maybe the sand blue will distract you. And the scarf.
Burnmad Posted April 19, 2012 Very nice. As for the gender, I could tell she was female. Even if the scarf wasn't there, the long slender neck would still be. - Quote Link to comment
Brickeens Posted April 19, 2012 Oh okay, well if the first impressions are female, then that's a good thing. Regarding her neck, it's probably too long. Quote Link to comment
Burnmad Posted April 19, 2012 Yeah, you could shorten it a little, although the scarf would also have to be made thinner. Looking at the lower legs, they kinda remind me of bell-bottoms. - Quote Link to comment
Daiker Posted April 19, 2012 Love the new approach on nuva legs. The flipped pattern not only fits with the anatomy, but looks great. The integration of the Nuju weapon being used as both weapon and kleets is nice. Like the torso but could use a bit more nuva armor flair. Neck is also a bit big. Not really needed, but I just feel that the kanohi could go for a bit more texture. Looks a bit too human-ish and smooth, though not sure whether or not it would ruin it . Otherwise, I could clearly see this as a female character (also sand blue!), so great work! Quote Link to comment
Paleo Posted April 19, 2012 Amazing. The scarf adds a great touch, and the weapon is nice too. The leg design is phenomenal, especially the flipped Nuva design. However, the right foot is a bit small, but it's not that bad. The spikes on the sides of the feet are great too. Not sure if you got my PM, but do you have any plans to ink my character? xccj Posted April 19, 2012 At first I was like "Cool, female Toa of Ice." Then I was like "Wait, is that Nuju's weapon? Is this Nuju Metru?" Then "Oh, it is supposed to be female..." Looks pretty good IMO. Nice job. Quote Link to comment
Xinlo Posted April 20, 2012 This is a whole lot better than some of your other stuff (which was still good). I love the new style, but it still fits with the old one. And I figured it was probably female, but yeah... still needs a tad bit of work there. Keep it up. Quote Link to comment
Toa of Dancing Posted April 20, 2012 I could rather easily tell it was female. Anyways, it's really well-done, I like the details and coloring and such. Quote Link to comment
Sumiki Posted April 20, 2012 It's quite obviously female, but it's not too overt in its femininity, which is quite nice. Quote Link to comment
Brickeens Posted April 26, 2012 Oh wow, I really am blind when I've just finished a drawing. Looking at it a week later, it does look fairly female. When I'd just finished this I almost didn't post it because I thought it was that bad. Quote Link to comment
