Christmas Tree Blues

yes, it is still early december and we are setting up our artificial christmas tree. which, of course, is stored in the attic, and the door to the attic is in my bedroom. whoopee.   and to add salt to the wound of privacy, since mom had to go make dinner, guess who got to help set up the tree? (they may be artificial, but those branches hurt.)   our lego league team did not do very well at the qualifying tournament yesterday. I made two programs there as an on the spot thing, and ironicaly, th

Christmas Eve.

it's finally here. mine is slightly marred by possibly having to work tonight. it depends on how many people are willing to brave the cold for some sandwiches. all the other restaraunts are closed by now, so we might be getting all of their business. but like I said, it depends on how many people want to go out for dinner on a cold night. with no other reason to go out.   I helped mom wrap my brother's special present. I won't tell what it is, because I don't know if my bro will read this betw

Changed My Mind...

i'm taking the Nano back. a friend (hi, Numi!) told me she had a MP3 player that was excatly like the nano, but it wasn't the nano. and she only paid about $50 for it. which is almost a third of the price i paid for mine.   and i figured out i can get the other MP3, a lego set, and a book i really want, all for under $90.   now i just need to find a nearby Costco...   in other news, i'm going to send something for Brickfest this year. hope it gets there in time...

Changed For Good

I remember that first day... the sun was shining, cotton was blowing from the tress (yes, cotton grows on trees). The local Parks and Rec. decided to host a "friday academy" and everyone who wanted to participate could choose one or two different classes. Martial arts was among the choices.   Dad was the one who drove me to the first lesson. It was just before nine in the morning, but I was wide awake, eager to start. I was also very nervous, and kind of scared. my parents were more cautious,

Celebration All Around

First off, Congrats to Nuyaka cloud fire, and everyone else who recieved promotions yesterday. I'm sure you'll do a fine job.   Second, Happy Birthday to Turakii #1 Lavasurfer, who is now officialy an adult, at 18. Many Happy returns!     Well, I'm sure there's more celebrations to be had! I'm OFF!                 OH, Ok, and Happy Birthday to my little brother, Kapurkar. (who's taller than I am) I'm sure he'll get what he deserves.

Ccc Critics

Hey guys.   Thank you all for working so hard on the CCC awards this year. It turned out great. However, (I think you will probably agree) There are a couple of things that we can improve on or do better. This will also be a chance for us to get our normal CCC duties sorted out. So this will basically be a round-table discussion about the awards, how you think we did, and how we can improve. I’ll put up a couple of points to start us off.   Communication/Public Relations: This was a HUGE issue

Can We Please Go To Brickcon?

yes, i may be able to go to brickcon. i have been begging my dad to take me and my brother, the only problem is transportation. normaly it would't be a problem, but since mom busted our two-or-three-people-going-away-for-the-weeked car, it's harder. (the honda got excellent mileage where we live. so either we don't go, or we sell our old car and buy a new small one.   even if we go, we'll only do the public excibition, because you have to be able to 18 to attend the full convention, and even th

Brickfest!

I got to go to Brickfest! There was some pretty cool stuff there, like a Stargate and a HUGE roller coster.   I entered something to the BZPower BIONICLE display. Mine was the Tu-Tu Bird, the little Brown and Tan thing next to the BZPower Guest Book.   Yes, I signred the BZPower Guest book. And I got to play around with animation, because the TR-57 guys at the convention let the public visitors play with their cool toys. and i bought not one, not two, but SIX BIONICLE sets for $20. they were a

Brickfest 11

I'm going to try to make it.   See, I have a missions trip that I take during spring break. and Brickfest happens to be at the tail end of my spring break. So the trips might overlap. (I can't remember the exact dates of the mission trip.)   I thought about going to World Youth Day, but I figured that for the prices the plane tickets are likely to cost, I'm better off going to Nazerene Youth Conference. AND Young Life Camp.   Add school trips into the mix, and I have a lot of trips planned

Braces....

...Hurt only when you are several hours from the orthodontist and have had them in for several hours.   Yeah, I got them today. I have to have them in for two years. FUN.   But at least I got to go to Red Robin (which has the best French Onion soup in the world!) Even when they offered to give me a kids menu....   Do I really look that young? I'm turning 17 in just over a month!     It must be the braces...

Bobsledding Requires Three Things...

Strength, Courage, and a Guy named Bob.     Seriously, the special features on the How to Train Your Dragon bonus disk are awesome. The Viking Winter Olympics are hilarious.       Oh, and I get to go to a Tenth Avenue North concert tonight! I won't get back untill 1 in the morning, but that's what you get when you live in the middle of nowhere...

Bionicle: An Epic Quest

After a loooonng Hiatus from the BZP forums due to life and stuff, I was visiting a Comedies forum topic as the authors discussed how to revitalize the comedies sector of the library forum. One of the reasons the forum was dying, they discussed, was because more authors were leaving than there were coming. THis is really rather obvious; most of the children who were BIONICLE fans are now finishing high school or in college, when life enters the scene and reality hits. But when we were young, we

Bbc Contest

I think I'll enter. I've never MoCed much, but this is a chance to start again. My only problem is deciding what to build...   on another note, I seem to be smarter than I thought. Not only did I do really well on the Semester Finals (as far as I can tell) But I seem to be catching the attention of a lot of colleges. I've already recived emails from eight different colleges, all of them wanting me to go to their college. It's kind of weird... And none of them are in California. where my reccome

Bad News...

Jalina sat down and nearly broke down in tears. she had come home to find that her cat, violet, whom she had recued from the cold of winter, had to be put to sleep earlier that day. her freind had taken her to the vet at lunch time, and found that voilet had asthma, which had been caused by lukemia. had she not had lukemia, she might have been better. but as lukemia is contaigous, she had to be put down for the saftey of her and the other animals at the treehouse fortress. Jalina's brother, Kapu

Back Online...

I've had this PM that's been sitting in my inbox all week and I COULDN'T OPEN IT! Finally got to open it, though. So the CCC awards are back on track.   In other news: I finally got Smash Bros. Sadly, due to my Wii being old hand having played many disks, the lens is apparently dirty and needs to be cleaned. (It couldn't read the SSBB disk.) So it's currently sent off for professional cleaning from Nintendo. I'll play it... Eventually...

Argh!

The one downside to seeing WICKED is that I will never be able to watch The Wizard of Oz the same way again.   which, of course, I am doing right now. it's been very interesting so far.

April Fools....

Now, what kind of joke can I play on my siblings today?   I'm debating whether or not I should short-sheet their beds, or just make them and make them think that I short-sheeted their beds. Or...   I could tell them Grandma's coming a day early, but I doubt they would fall for that anymore...

April Fools?

1.I would have done this yesterday, but it was a monday.   2.I would have gotten my new comic up, but my hat hurt.   3.I would have brought my homework, but my pet visorak ate it.   4.I would have played my computer, but the pen broke.   5.I would have eaten dinner, but i am a aracnophobic.   6.I would have fed the cat, but my brother's underwear was too tight.   7.I would have stargazed, but my microscope broke.   8.I would have watched STARGATE SG-1, but my other brother was hogging the

Approximately How Much Are Minifigures Worth?

Because someone stole about 35 of them off my Lego model for the fair. :crying: I went in to see how it was, and there were a whole bunch of figures gone, including my favorite. RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PAVILION! I hope i can get them back...   Edit: my model lost the people's choice award by one vote. ONE lousy vote. the superintendent for the crafts division said that she would push for Lego creations to have their own division next year. I told her I would be happy to help out

Another Thought On Ben 10...

I think it's a little overpriced...   Humungosaurus: 14 pieces, $15. Jet Ray: 16 pieces, $15.   I realize the others are in the 20-24 range, but they're still $15.   BIONICLE, on the other hand...   Sure they're pieces are from 19-21, but they only cost about half as much as the Ben 10 line, $8.   And people will still buy Ben 10 because it's popular. Thankfully, it will probably die out within two years when all the fuss ends and the kids grow up. or the series ends.

Another Opening, Another Show!

Our College theatre department opens our new show, Jekyll and Hyde, tonight.       >_>       ....       AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!       Jk, just some pre-show jitters. Honestly, I'm really excited. it's going to be a really fun and spooky show. (And I can't wait to be done so I can start focusing on school again... and BZP. But, we're going for three weekends, so it will be a while.)
