So I recently moved over to Portland. I love this city. It has this life and vitality and this culture I am just so ecstatic about being a part of. I've never been anywhere like it (though Austin comes pretty close). I could definitely spend my life here. ANYWAY, that's just background info. So today I was downtown with some amigs, we ate luch at the Rogue Bar (one of the best burgers I've ever had oh man), and just kind of chilled and walked around. The downtown is always so bustling. So co
I'm in a bizarre state of mind. It's not exactly a pleasant state of mind, and I wish it gone. And so, as I always do, I shall write it away. For now.
Some of you may know that I recently left home, going off to the University, and living in-dorm. And if not, now you do. Let me now inform you that while my profile location may say otherwise (which it does), I am indeed back in the lovely land of Tulsa, Oklahoma for the summer.
And it's not exactly what I had expected home to be.
I've go
Today I accomplished something I've been attempting since like, September.
I finished an actual MOC! Not just a silly little (yet adorable!) robot that I threw together!
Sadly, yes, it's a humanoid MOC. This is only because the base of said MOC was begun last summer, and the torso was sticking out of my 'chunks of stuff not yet in pieces' bucket, and inspiration hit. So parts of the MOC are quite dated, design-wise. Yet other parts are fantastically new!
Don't fret, BZP. The next MOC w
I made this comment in another blog, but I think it kind of deserves it's own blog post. Someone was talking about all this "Brony" nonsense, and someone was like "Bronies aren't doing anything to start any flamewars". And I'm not going to say they're doing anything, but I know as someone who has no interest in the show (after having watched several episodes and found it uninteresting), that it is actually pretty annoying to open the blogs and see what seems like every other one blogging abo
I've been busy building! Unemployment is good for something, eh?
(Images still link to Flickr pages.)
This is a MOC I've been formulating since October. When I posted Commander Stropes, Smeag asked me why, since I build with white so often, I had never built a Smeag MOC.
This was a good point.
So, now I am halfway towards having a finished Smeag MOC that is based off of Transformers Animated Blurr, the soon-to-be-released Transformers Timelines Drift figure, and stuff from
Thanks for sending those urgent phone calls, Optimus! Now everyone knows about the dire situation involving the Decepticon threat in [insert place here]!
I bought a cheap tripod the other day. It is lovely, and it makes me happy. I haven't had much time to play with it, but I took a few minutes tonight to snap some shots of my other newest acquisition, the cowardly Skywarp!
He is oh-so-pretty, and I'm glad I skipped on Thundercracker Starscream in favor of a better coloured repaint.
Also: Swoop
He is also awesome.
Man, what is this nonsense. A little Hapori Tohu head by my posts? Nah man, nah. There's no way I've been on this infernal site for ten years, today. Or maybe I have! (On a totes madgabbin side note, this is like, for reals the best smiley ever: )
If you are not a premier member, you're not allowed to keep using your blog. So stop. Also, I am at Brickfair with lots of other awesome people, and it is awesome. As per the usual. Also also, you can indeed talk about evolution on BZPower, because it's science, not religion or politics.

DV: Hey bossman.
B6: Hey good looking.
DV: So boss, what's going on in the near future?
B6: Oh, Brickfair '09, of course!
DV: Silly me, how could I have forgotten?! Lucky I have such a wondrous and handsome boss!
B6: Yes, lucky you! I am quite the catch, oh single ladies of the world!
DV: Yeah you are!
B6: But yeah, you should go to Brickfair '09, DV.
DV: I think I just might! Hey, do you know who is in charge of the Bionicle theme this year?
B6:
I have attended every single Brickfair in Virginia since it began in 2008. We started with a core little group of BZP staffies which I was quick to join, being promoted to staff while at Brickfair itself that first year. What a crazy ride it's been since then! We're down to just two of those first handful of Brickfair folks these days, just Andrew and myself. This has sort of made me sad, and probably him a little too, but something about this year sort of turned that around for me. For a lo
I just want you guys to know that I am for sure entering this contest! I have a MOC near-completed that just needs finishing touches and photography. I am pumped to finally have a MOC to enter into a contest, I haven't entered one since I won 50. Very excited!
| | | Linked because I don't hate you. There's a few more pictures of each on my Flickr. I've got Evo too, but I didn't do any photos because Evo is lame.
Yes, I have seen them. And yes, I'm disappointed.
Though I am glad that, for once, the leaked images are high-res. In fact, there are even CG promo renders. Much better than in the past, and they give a nice look into the construction (like it's really been that hard since TLG adopted the standard boring body design), etc.
So, my pronouncement?
I'm bored. Same ol', same ol'. We used to get new ideas year in and year out. Take out your Olda, Nuva, Metru, Hordika, and Inika sets. With t
Hey yo, I'm the BZPower staff interview guy this month, fill my inbox with questions! Silly ones are great, but this is also your chance to ask me anything you want about my MOCs and style, my interactions, LEGO conventions, moving across country because of a BZP member, running the blogs, etc. If you've ever wanted to know something, ask!
So, Nukaya and I adopted a cat this past weekend. She is five years old, and we got her from the Oregon Humane Society. She was abandoned as a kitten in a fountain, and the couple that found her had her for four and a half years, and never named her. The cat thought her name was "Kitty Hungry?" Apparently at one point she even disappeared for three months and they never looked for her, and she just showed back up one day. A friend of this couple was talking to them and they gave her the cat, and
I finally registered for BricksCascade, which happens here in three weeks. I also decided to input my MOCs. After ten cons, I get tired of the same things all the time. So this is my MOCs list (not censoring my name because for one, I'm an adult, for two, it's already all over the forum for prior con mailing things, and for three, it's public on the BricksCascade list, so that would be dumb): SPOT THE NEW MOCS NONE OF YOU HAVE SEEN WOW
This year Bricks Cascade is in March! That is really soon! Take a look at this news story! And for background info, this entry from last year! We're doing something similar this year. First, if you mailed in MOCs to BFAlabama, they are being shipped up here to me for Cascade this week, from what I understand. Those will be on display at Cascade, and then I believe I will be mailing them up to Andrew for BFNew England, and he'll drive them down to the real Brickfair in VA. If you didn't mai
