===> Kanaya: Do the purry thing

So, Nukaya and I adopted a cat this past weekend. She is five years old, and we got her from the Oregon Humane Society. She was abandoned as a kitten in a fountain, and the couple that found her had her for four and a half years, and never named her. The cat thought her name was "Kitty Hungry?" Apparently at one point she even disappeared for three months and they never looked for her, and she just showed back up one day. A friend of this couple was talking to them and they gave her the cat, and

This should come as no surprise

I cast an absentee ballot a few weeks ago, but today's the day most of the rest of the country votes. I probably don't even have to say iit, but I voted for Obama/Biden. I couldn't fathom voting any differently.

Pumpkins and stuff

Sorry I suck at updating this, Nukaya and I have been doing a lot of traveling and I've been doing so much photo editing and stuff that I kind of forgot! We went down to Oklahoma for a week and a half of October, because I was in the wedding party for two separate weddings on two consecutive weekends. It was a good time and we got to see almost everyone I know down there, and I got to take Maddison to the OKC Bombing Memorial and the Tulsa Zoo and we bought her an OKState Track and Field shirt a

HEY YOU

Dear everyone who mailed in MOCS:   I will NOT be mailing you your MOCs. Chocolatefrogs will.   Because of this, and a few mix-ups, and some of you not sending the proper instructions and photos and things like that we asked for, I need you to message him.   I NEED you to PM Chocolatefrogs with:   - The name on your return shipping address - A list of the MOCs you sent (with links to pictures if possible) - Your address just to be safe   You don't have to do this, of course. He also doesn't have

D O N O T F O R G E T

As per this entry, please send us MOCs! All the relevant address and shipping information can be found in that link. Please mail us stuff! I've received two packages so far and I've got a few more promised. Let's get a ton of stuff sent in and make these conventions the best BIONICLE conventions ever.   And bonus! I was recently down in Oklahoma, shipping stuff back up here to Oregon. This included the majority of my LEGO collection.   Which means, I have two trophies to show you guys! I built t

HEY MICAH

Just thought I'd let you know, your MOC sits on my nightstand next to my "LOVE WINS" bumper sticker and my stuffed rabbit and assorted other important trinkets.   She guards the lamp, I think.

Things To Get Done

Things to finish or start-and-also-finish before Brickfair:   (Because as of right now the only new MOC I'll have for Brickfair is Catwoman and I'm NOT okay with only having one new MOC!) Brickeens MOC Big Brickfair animal MOC Bryan the giraffe Random MOC I have only vague ideas for? Oh and maybe I should get my parents to mail me the HF Bulk 3.0 MOC I built last October and left sitting on the kitchen table when I moved to Oregon and then forgot all over again when I went back in April. African-American Studies

So I recently moved over to Portland. I love this city. It has this life and vitality and this culture I am just so ecstatic about being a part of. I've never been anywhere like it (though Austin comes pretty close). I could definitely spend my life here.   ANYWAY, that's just background info.   So today I was downtown with some amigs, we ate luch at the Rogue Bar (one of the best burgers I've ever had oh man), and just kind of chilled and walked around. The downtown is always so bustling. So co

What Shall I Do With These?

I've been waiting for these to show up for weeks now. I'm not complaining, I know that the online Pick-a-Brick is all done by hand, and all in Denmark, so I understand it takes time. But these showed up yesterday and I'm so so so glad they did because now I can really get started on my Brickfair 2012 MOC project.

Mission Impossible 4

So I'm watching the end of MI4 (which was a pretty good movie) and the subtitle is "Seattle" and I'm watching and I'm like "man, Seattle looks familiar, even though I've only been through it on a Greyhound twice!"   Then I realized it was because that wasn't Seattle.   It was Vancouver, BC.   And it looked familiar because it was the exact place on Granville Island where I watched Nukaya and LehvakLah get attacked by pigeons.   Anyway, not a real point to this except it was one of those "that's

I M P O R T A N T I N F O R M A T I O N

So guys: BricksCascade and Brickfair.   BricksCascade is the first weekend in June, and Brickfair the first weekend in August.   I am the coordinator for both, as we've previously established.   And, as also previously established, if you send me MOCs for BricksCascade, you will not only be eligible for one of our FOUR BIONICLE trophies (hand-made and designed by yours truly), but I can also take them to appear at Brickfair as well, for NO ADDITIONAL COST. Yes, this would mean I'd have your MOCs

Cascade

Just bought Greyhound tickets for Maddison and I from La Grande to Portland for Cascade in three weeks.   Except that I apparently bought tickets from Portland to La Grande.   And I didn't buy the refundable ones.   So there goes $90.   Yay.   Then of course I bought the right ones. I love doubling my expenses!

May The 4Th Be With You

Today is STAR WARS DAY. So may the 4th be with you all.   And beware, for tomorrow is the Revenge of the Fifth.   Also, just four hours until Nukaya and I head to the theatre for the AVENGERS.   SUPER STOKED.   WHAT A DOUBLE DIP KIND OF GOOD DAY.

Red

Getting hit by a car on your bike hurts and ruins your wheels.   I am mostly okay but I have this nasty deep bruise on my chest from where the handlebars and I became close, close, close friends. It hurts pretty bad.   The car that hit me wasn't going very fast, it was a kid who was turning right on a red light and was looking the wrong direction, decided to go and then discovered two feet later that I was there. So nothing fast or dangerous but it was still not fun.   And now I have to walk the

Orange Ribbons

So, I think it's safe to say that we all know I'm into Homestuck, and it's all Nukaya's fault, being the persuasive girlfriend that she is. Ray tried to get me into it like a year before I finally did get into it but he clearly was not persuasive enough.   ANYWAY   So sometimes, in the Homestuck fandom, you see images of people cosplaying the characters and stuff, and you're like "haha, that's silly but good for them". I'm kind of baffled by how Homestuck seems to bring out so many cosplayers, a

On Canada

Jason's entry about the different Vancouvers made me think about the week Maddison (Nukaya) and I spent in Vancouver, BC, with Andrew (McSmeag), Hanni (LehvakLah), and Jen (Tufi Piyufi), with special guest appearance from Bryan (Makaru). It was a really good time, and it was a beautiful city with so many cool, cool aspects to it. So many random little corners, so many hidden gems. I just wanted and still want to explore it and just soak it in.   So what I'm saying is....       Because it looks
