So guys: BricksCascade and Brickfair.

BricksCascade is the first weekend in June, and Brickfair the first weekend in August.

I am the coordinator for both, as we've previously established.

And, as also previously established, if you send me MOCs for BricksCascade, you will not only be eligible for one of our FOUR BIONICLE trophies (hand-made and designed by yours truly), but I can also take them to appear at Brickfair as well, for NO ADDITIONAL COST. Yes, this would mean I'd have your MOCs for probably a good three months. But they would appear at two conventions, on both coasts, and be a part of one of the best LEGO experiences ever. BricksCascade guys don't think we can do a good display there, as they say BrickCon has a lackluster display, and they think for a new convention, Cascade will have even less (and they have a point on the second part, last year I was the BIONICLE display at Fiesta). So I want to prove them wrong, and I NEED YOUR HELP TO DO SO.

At the end of this entry is the address to mail MOCs you'd like to have appear at Cascade or Cascade and Fair. (If you only want to do Fair, then firstly, boo on you, and secondly, that address might be different).

For all packages of MOCs sent into BricksCascade, you will receive:

- A prototype piece

- A note of gratitude from me IN MY OWN HANDWRITING! OMG!

- A chance to win a trophy I built (and you have a good chance, because though I will have a large display of my own, I am recusing myself from being nominated)

- Your MOCs professionally photographed by Nukaya and I

- A wider scope of recognition

- Did I mention prototype parts? (And MOCs sent to both might get extra, but shhhh)

- Love and adoration

Also, because I want you guys to know what you'd be in the running for, this is the trophy list for the BIONICLE section at BricksCascade:

- Best Overall BIONICLE MOC- For the best overall BIONICLE MOC. This is going to be the one that is the most visually impressive.

- Best Toa "Moderator"- For the best of the large and always-existent simple Toa/Hero Factory MOCs. And yes, the trophy will say "Moderator", not the shortened version of "Modification".

- Best Rahi- For the best non-humanoid MOC

- Best Use of Pieces- For the MOC that has the most innovative use of parts or techniques

I tried to pick a balance of trophies, so they don't all favour one particular group of people. I know several of you expressed interest in sending in basic ToaMods and the like, and I wanted to make sure you were included.

ANYWAY, here's the straight shipping info, yo:

- ALL MOCS MUST HAVE RETURN PAYMENTS ENCLOSED. Failure to pay for a return shipment might mean you don't get your stuff back anytime soon. I will do my best to make reasonable attempts to get you your stuff back. I have a lot of parts, I don't need yours.

- RETURN PAYMENT WILL BE ACCEPTED VIA PAYPAL IF NECESSARY. This is especially important for those of you in different countries debating sending me stuff. This will be a lot easier than sending cash through customs.

- MOCS MUST ARRIVE THE LAST WEEKEND OF MAY

- PLEASE INCLUDE PHOTOS OF THE MOCS. Things break during shipping, I need to put them back together the way they are intended to be seen, not just a reasonable approximation.

- SHIP MOCS TO:

Patrick Biggs

c/o Ronnda Stapleton

230 NE 99th Ave

Portland, OR 97220-4414

- BROWNIE POINTS TO ANYONE WHO ADDRESSES THEIR PACKAGE TO NUKAYA'S PET CAT, HOBBES. BUT NOT BANDIT. SHE'S DUMB. OR TO THOSE WHO WRITE NUKAYA'S MOM A GOOFY NOTE ON THE PACKAGE OR DRAW HER SOMETHING APPROPRIATE AND FUNNY.

If you need any more information, do not hesitate to contact me, here in this entry, or by PM.

There will be a news story within the next week on the front page as well.

Do the incentives for BricksCascade carry over with BrickFair entries? I'm entering some things into BrickFair, like every year, and am just wondering.

Stuff mailed into Brickfair will most likely be mailed back with free stuff, yes. People who are BZP members who attend Brickfair will probably get free stuff like usual. Though this entry is mostly for people who want to ship stuff to just Cascade or to both, since that one is in June.

If we ship to BricksCascade but are attending BrickFair, do we need to include the return payment?

I hadn't thought about that! No, you would not need to include return payment.

If we were to send stuff for both, when would be the latest date?

It would need to be in Portland the weekend before the convention. Let's say Tuesday May 29th for leniency. We set up Thursday. Stuff has to be sorted before that.

I'm definitely planning to send a package in. How quickly do you estimate you will be mailing the MOCs back? I may need mine back for BrickWorld which is only two weeks later.

Thanks and good luck. :)

Well, I might just have to dust off my parts for this - heck, I need to get building, haven't in forever.

What would happen if our stuff somehow got lost, either in the shipping process or at either of the conventions in the craziness?

I was planning on keeping all MOCs mailed in until Brickfair, but I guess if you need it back in June, I can do my best to get it to you ASAP.

So beginning of may would be alright? I just don't want to part with my stuff for too long. :P

Yes, beginning of May would be fine. :)

I have never heard anyone lose a MOC during shipping, but what happens in the postage process is a risk you assume as the sender to BricksCascade, and if you send enough return shipping, I will send them back with insurance. I would suggest if you're worried you'll lose them, ship them and pay for tracking and insurance, that way you know where your package is at all times. MOCs have never been stolen from the convention tables, though we did have a couple minifigs go missing at Brickfair 2008, and someone lost some squids. But that's all that I've heard of, and I've had MOCs with prototype and rare parts up the last several years and no one has touched them.

I'll probably end up sending some of my stuff to BrickFair, but I'll wait until that address has been decided on before sending it, ext. Also, awesome prize themes. Should be fun.

I'm definitely interested in sending one or two MOCs in, but I'm not sure they're up for the test. Are you looking for really high-end, competion-grade mocing? Also, if I send them in early, how safe will they be?

well i think i'm in. i had sent mocs to brickfair in august. i also am wondering where the brickcascade is taking place?

Also is there a limit to the amount of mocs one person is allowed to enter?

and Also i have some bionicle that i have custom painted for the moc and i was wondering if i'm allowed to send one's that have been painted?

I'm definitely considering dusting off my parts, too. The only way I get to appear at these conventions is through my creations (few and far between).

Now I'm excited...

They will be extremely safe. Nukaya's mom is a very good person, do not worry. Also, you can send in MOCs of any caliber. I want to see all MOCs! And there's even a trophy for MOCs that are basic Toamods or custom Heroes. So all are welcome!

BricksCascade will be in Portland, Oregon. No limits to the amount of MOCs! Send as many as you'd like! Your custom painted MOCs will be okay for showing, but might not get considered for trophy voting.

Yay, excitement!!

Do the MOCs we send in have to be BIONICLE? I have a System creation I'd like to send, but since the point of this is to make the BIONICLE table look better...

I guess what I'm really trying to ask is if it's alright to send in a System MOC along with the BIONICLE one.

Are the events REALLY in Virginia? I'm in California and I can't go if the events are in Virginia.

BricksCascade is in Portland, Oregon, and Brickfair is in Chantilly, Virginia, outside of Washington DC. If you can't go please consider mailing your MOCs in.

You can send in system MOCs if you like, but I'm not sure how the other themes feel about MOCs mailed in by non-attendees. We've always done that with the BIONICLE tables at conventions, but I know other themes are not always kosher with that. So I can't promise it would be displayed.

Sweet. I'll probably do this, if only to get my hands on a few prototype parts. :P It'll be good to get some recognition, too, though.

Can I PM you a LDD file as well as/instead of photos to aid you in rebuilding MOCs? I'd like to send something but I'd have to partially disassemble it.

I am filling my trunk with MOCs for Cascade, no matter how ###### they are, but I can't promise that Rob won't sneak some Gundam models in there.

Ooh, I got some great MOCs to enter into this, plus I could really use some prototypes! I have a whole series going of redesigned Mata-Nui MOCs ready, and I might enter a few...
