Muzzy!

GMan

You'll find out what the title is for in due time... After I had computer fun class, I went to Assisted Study. I got some work done there, mostly just asking questions about some Social Studies stuff. Then, I went to French class, where we worked a little, and then we watched a movie. This was one of those 'learning another language by having it condescendingly shown to you in an incomprehendable manner' movies. It started with an image of this big, blue-green fuzzy monster thing in a space ship, speaking in French. This was Muzzy. Then it cut to an image of this anthromorphic animal royal family, with a lion for the father and king, some sort of mammal for the queen, and a mouse or something for the princess, Sylvie. There was a creepy yellow-eyed large-and-pointy-nosed goblin thing who worked as inspector, and disturbingly enough, had a crush on Sylvie. A young mouse/rat named Jacque who worked for the royal family as gardener was Sylvie's boyfriend. And intermittently, a weird outlined figure would ride on a bicycle repeating French words to a weird tune, and some comedic scenes with him were shown. The goblin thingy was using a weird giant computer to spy on everybody, and he preoccupied Jacque from going on a picnic or whatever with Sylvie by ordering him to count things (thus showing how to count, oh boy, education), until he snuck off to go on a motorcycle ride with Sylvie. The inspector snitched to the king, who had Jacque found and arrested by the military, and the inspector had Jacque placed in a cell with Muzzy, who was apparently feared. Very strange... Very very strange. Then Muzzy befriended Jacque and told his story. He's an extraterrestrial who eats metal. The show was interrupted by the bell, but since I had already seen most of the movie after that, in 6th grade, I knew what happened. The rest of my day was indescript... In English we just typed stuff and revised and yada yada yada... Math was dull...

Oh, and last night I was busy uploading and editing some images that I had scanned, which were saved on my Mom's computer, the main one, and I was about to finish when my mom turned her comp off and I couldn't finish... Which explains why I haven't updated my COT art topic yet, to let anybody curious know...

That movie sounds...wierd. But it's really funny in french right? (I have a Calvin and Hobbes in french. It's really funny to see Calvin yell something in french!)

Oh Muzzy...my companion between ages 3 & 4...how I miss the days of sitting back with ten thousand Sylvia's flooding the royal palace while a Green Fuzzy Alien munched on Parking Meters...

I know... It's very strange... Also, the goblin's crush on Sylvie (who must be half his age...) is very creepy... In the Madonna sense...

That's the English Version. You buy it, and it comes in French (for English People to learn) and English (for French People to Learn).

'A, E, I, O, U...I love you.'

(from Bob & Sylvia's duet).

We watched the vowel part... That was strange. Though not as strange as that giant computer the big nosed goblin thingy has.

WHen I was a Kid, I would repeat the song from the 'Bob is arrested' scene - Take Him Away, (Boom Boom) Take Him Away! (Boom Boom!) - Three hundred times a day.

In fact, I still do. With a megaphone. At everyone.

One of the movies I will always remember is 'Road To El Dorado', especially the scenes with music by Elton John. I love that movie, I have it on DVD. 'Someday out of the Blue' is a wonderful song... Yes, I know that sounds strange coming from somebody who listens to Marilyn Manson and System of a Down.

You're so right. SO right. Kenneth Branagh (aka King Henry V) and Kevin Kline (aka Bottom) are brilliant together, so much that I wanted to see the film live-action. The music, the design, it's all - they must have finished making that, then sat back after test screenings and drunk a whole keg from sheer joy at the money it would make.

I agree. It's an animation masterpiece. I loved the plot, the acting, and the humor. Plus the chase scene with the stone cat thing was awesome. "It's Tough To Be A God" is a great song, it went great with the animation. I first saw it when it came out, with a friend, and I've never forgotten. The scenes with Miguel and Tulio up to their trickery were all great. That faked fight scene at the start was wonderful.

I think the best part is that none of them really learn any message afterwards. They're still running around, stealing stuff, having adventures. They're total criminals and we love them for it.

I'm glad there wasn't a sequel. It would never have compared.

I also like 'I'd Believe In Anything (Were It Not For You)', and the fact that the Villain doesn't have a corny 'Villain Song', proclaiming how 'EEEVILLLL!' he is. They stopped that nonsense in Mulan, did the animation Trade. Stopped it for good.

Dreamworks made Road to El Dorado, you know that right? Anyways, I agree... There was just great music to accompany the drama and humor of the movie, and it was great. "Friends Never Say Goodbye" was a great scene. The ending was perfectly ambiguous, leaving our [not-much-of-a-]group of heroes to go whereever they might want. Man... What a great movie.

I was highlighting Mulan as the first Major Kids Animated Movie to leave out a Bad Guy Song.

What a great movie.

Although, of course, Madagascar is second-best. Sasha Baron Cohen = Playa.

Yes, Mulan did. I guess movie makers began abandoning that kiddie kitsch.

Ooh! Who'd he play! Who?!

King Julian, with Cedric the Entertainer as Maurice his Advisor.

'Everyone stop talking, and that includes me. Shut up! Oh, that was me. Who's making all that noise! Oh, me again. Sorry.'

'I like to Move it, move it! I like to Move it, move it! You like to -'

'MOVE IT!'

Heh... I really liked Madagascar, it was a great film... There's going to be a sequel to it. Of course I like Shrek, Spider-Man, and Pirates of the Caribbean much better as series, though.

Todd McFarlane is great, and he's animated music videos for some of my favorite bands... He created Venom and Spawn, who could hate him? I'm gonna make my dad take me to the threesome of third-time sequels in May or else...
