Yes, but they were supposed to wake up when it hit the bridge. The water was their back up kick.

OMG! I know, right? That Nolan guy wasn't even mentioned in the movie. Then their all like, "No man, he was totally in it!".

The ending wasn't a dream. You could trace exactly how he got there.
