Hf Is Down 9% At The Close Of The Market

After 206 votes, a grand total of 135 people said they were on the "like" side, for 66% of BZPower members. That's down 9% from yesterday's 75%, but still a strong majority. Of the 206, 35 voted on the "dislike" side, resulting in a percentage of 17%--only a 2% gain for the Hero Haters of BZPower. 27 of the 206 didn't care, for a total of 13.71%, while 9 have nulled, for 4% of the vote.

Of the 135 pro-HFers, 38 said they were big fans (28% of the likers, 19.29% of all of BZP), 75 said they liked it moderately (56% of the likers, 38.07 of BZP), and 22 said they liked it only a little more than they disliked it (16% of the likers, 11.17% of BZP).

Of the anti-HFers, only 7 of the 35 have voted that they dislike it moderately (20% of the Hero Haters, 3.55% of BZP), while the "KILL IT DEADERS" rose to 14 (40% of the dislikers, 7.11% of BZP), and an equal number of 14 have said they only dislike it a little more than they like it (40% of dislikers, 7.11% of BZPower).

LIKERS down 9%

DISLIKERS up 2%

DON'T CARES up 2.33%

NULLERS down 1%

Ahh the lego stock market is fun no? I'd like to invest $100 in HF likers :)

And I'll maybe try shorting the HF haters stock :sly:

"There are three kinds of lies -- lies, [darn] lies, and statistics."

I don't remember who said that, sorry. I'm pretty sure it was a British Prime Minisiter... don't think it was Churchill, though. Might have Chambelain. Or Disreali. I'm honestly not sure.

I have a few problems with the assumption that, based on the poll, the majority loves Hero Factory:

For one, this assumes interests are mutually exclusive - similar to arguing over whether Coke or Pepsi is better. One can like both Coke and Pepsi, just like one can like both HF and BIONICLE, so a more fair and valid poll in my mind would be 'Do you like Hero Factory better than BIONICLE' or 'Would you have rather LEGO released HF alongside BIONICLE' - it would show more, I think.

Also, another interesting statistic is that a plurality (46.67) of voters prefer Slizers to Hero Factory in a similar poll. :)

Aside from those, I personally take the polls to mean most people are OK with Hero Factory, but would rather have either Slizers or BIONICLE instead - and considering this is a site targeted at young kids (13 and under), this does not surprise me. :)

That's why in the poll I asked people to answer based on their opinion of Hero Factory without regard to BIONICLE. I want to know what they think of HF simply as HF, not as BIONICLE's successor. They already did a HF-BIONICLE poll.

I'm not asking about Slizers, I'm asking about HF. Obviously, there will be some who will judge based on how HF compares to BIONICLE, simply because they don't like to read the starter post, but usually, that's only the dislikers, I've found.

Uh, yeah. That's what it means. I don't know why you thought it was supposed to mean that everyone loves it. Only the percentage that said "I'm a big fan" are counted for that.

Strangely enough, though, at this point, there are only ten fewer self-proclaimed "big fans" than the entire number who said they disliked it at all. (61 total dislikers, 51 "big fans")

There are also a total of 186 people who said they were on the "likers" side of the spectrum.

So, out of the 301 members who voted, that's a pretty strong majority of likers, and they are almost in danger of being overtaken by the "big fans" alone.

I understand that, but I think that pulls out a key variable - and thus kind of skewers the results. It is possible to like both, just some better than another - which is a pretty big variable IMO. Let's just agree to disagree here. :)

No one based their opinion of BIONICLE on Slizers. Same thing applies here.

Question: Why are you saying "of all BZP" when only 344 out of 46,000+ members have voted?

Firstly, that was a simple mistake.

Secondly, I'd like to know how many of those 46,000+ are still actually active.

Meh, you should probably put something like "of all votes"...

People get the general idea. Plus, why go through the trouble of revising old blog entries?
