Entry 12 -- Pokemon Black Version
Okay, this is more in general than anything.
So, with a new generation, comes a ton of new HM changes, as normal. Three are made normal, and a few make some returns.
But as with Generation 3; you cannot transfer Pokemon with HM Moves.
My question? Why? Surely, Nintendo, with your fancy powers, and your fancy abilities to remove stuff most fans like(Vs Seeker anyone?), as well as add awesome new stuff at the same time; you can actually remove that limitation, and not allow people to somehow obtain a Surf/Flying Pikachu every single generation; and not make people suffer through the slowness of deleting moves in Generation 4, before transferring the Pokemon to Generation 5.
And exactly why is it needed anyhow? It's not like the item removal, which was likely simply to prevent people from getting crafty with sending up obsolete TMs, as both the coding for what it teaches and the actual coding for the TMs was changed. No; the moves still exist. And the HGSS/DPPt dilemma shows that they can easily shift the HM Block flags between games, which they have, Defog, Rock Smash, and Whirlpool are able to be deleted at will. So why do we need to delete the moves before sending them up? >_> It can't be because of the ingame reason(Which has also been obsolete for the past few Generations, ever since you couldn't store the HMs in the PC) of getting stuck; if you have access to put Pokemon in the PC; you have access to the HMs and can easily teach a Pokemon new moves. And if it's because the HMs no longer exist; then exactly how are we able to send up Pokemon with moves from the old TMs?
Generation 6 better not have an HM blocker, Nintendo. If you hand out a Surfing Pikachu or Flying one, I want to keep it. And if Generation 6 is somehow even faster than Generation 5... Then I don't wanna have to spend hours in a slower game just to transfer six Pokemon, like DPPt/HGSS. =P
