Blessed Blade

So; I hooked it up so I could get a little Goldeneye practice in of some sorts(Mostly with the N64 controller; if you can get used to that, you can get used to just about anything =P). I did fairly well, considering I was facing myself.

However... This is the first time I actually used the N64 on this TV, since I moved everything around. And it's like playing in Widescreen. And not the good way. ._.; It's definitely not like playing on my old TV, I'll say that much. =P And it took me a little while to get used to the screen, since a) I haven't played it since last year, and B) the screen's stretched, or pushed together or something.

It was simply just weird. xP

YES. I actually found the missing cords for my N64 and got mine working too.

SO MUCH LOVE.

Also, try browsing your TV's settings. Any good widescreen TV should have a setting to display 4:3 correctly. Or you can try to use a fishbowl setting like I did for OoT. It's not uncommon for FPSes to run in fishbowl perspective. I find that HL2 does this, and it looks natural, so maybe running Goldeneye in fishbowl mode will look alright.

1. Oh sweet. That's nice. =D

2. Except for the fact that it isn't a Widescreen. >_^ It's just a normal oversized TV. And I don't believe it has any such feature anyway; was looking for one when trying to display the Wii better. And a quick glance over the options, says no. =P It might be just shrinking, but displaying as much as it can. I don't believe I've played many N64 games on this TV anyway, so it might have been the way it always was. xP

Fishbowl?

Well that's just weird. :P I've never dealt with a TV like that. Only two TVs I've bought was a CRT TV from before HD went mainstream and a pretty standard HD widescreen, so I dunno what to do about that.

Yeah, fishbowl perspective. Like this, only most TV displays shouldn't look as exaggerated as that. :P

Mine basically leaves the middle un-stretched, then gradually stretches the sides of the screen to fill the sides of the screen. It definitely distorts the picture a bit, but when it comes to devices that can't display normal widescreen view, it looks better than regular stretching.

1. This would be one of the former. =P Aka; it came over with the Aerodactyl. =P

2. Hmm... Maybe that's actually what I have going on. xP Definitely looks like the screen's actually curved, if I look at it without a game on. So, maybe that's it. I'm not exactly used to playing the N64 on this. =P

Graphics are crisp, however. B)

Great game. I still play it from time to time....I was really sad when they cancelled the updated graphics one for the 360 and decided to just completely remake it for the Wii. (though the Perfect Dark one they made instead is pretty awesome too)

I still play the classic one on my N64 though. :P (along with Super Mario 64 of course)
