Most Expensive Game Ever

So, as it turns out, none of the computers I have at my disposal (all three of them) can run Portal 2.

Not everyone can buy a new top-of-the-line system every time a new game comes out. It'd be nice if there was a lower quality version in addition to the super-advanced one. I'd be willing to sacrifice some visual realism for the ability to actually play the game.

However, the fact that I'm off to college soon and all three computers are either a.) old or b.) not mine (school-issued) (or c.) a crummy desktop… and old) hopefully means I can buy another. I've got my eye on a 13" MacBook Pro, since it'd certainly be powerful enough. But this probably won't be for another few months.

So in the meantime if people could not spoil anything that'd be great and I'd appreciate it.

If you're gonna be gaming at all on the laptop, shoot for a 15" or 17" Pro.

You'd even be better off with the 21" iMac. I'd highly recommend that for gaming purposes. As well as for normal purposes, of course. :P

Yeah but there's actual money involved so I'm going with the cheapest expensive thing, which is the 13".

The 21.5" iMac actually costs the same as the 13" Macbook Pro. And you get more bang for your buck with the iMac. Just saying. Also depends on whether you're staying in a dorm (in which case the iMac would be appropriate) or not (Macbook, for portability).

Well I'll likely be in a dorm, but I'm also going for portability, so I'm choosing MacBook.

Have you actually tried running them on the computers, or are you simply assuming they can't based on the recommended specs?

I only tried on one, since it's the only one that can run the original Portal.
