So I was thinking today about the RPG forum here and how I would like to get back involve with it during the summer. And well, a thought pop in my mind as I was thinking of my RPG contest entry again. Its kind of crazy thought, but I thought it might be interesting to at least explore the idea a little. Basically it involves incorporating optional voice acting into a text-based RPG, where you would have the option of either reading the text of what character was saying in the post or having what character said read out loud in the fashion of how the character would speak, not necessary the RPer.

Now before anyone comes in saying that wouldn't work and would likely turn off players as it involves more work for them, I wasn't suggesting this idea to be use for players. No, I was thinking more of this being use for NPC that serve the role of announcers or something along those lines that Gamemaster would have control over. It probably still won't work though as then GM either has to record lines themselves for the characters (Which would probably take awhile.) or find someone to read the lines with flexible schedule to meet the GM's needs. So yeah, not a perfect idea, but I do think it would be interesting to see.

Eh, I would probably not try it myself since I would be pretty bad at voice acting. Although then again, it could be cool thing to include into an introduction to an RPG, so I might try it for that. That is if this RPG contest entry of mines ever sees the light of day, which it probably won't.

Well, that's my crazy idea. Yeah, I know not very interesting thing to talk about in an entry. But its like 2:37 AM here, so I don't know why you would be expecting a novel of excitement and amazement. Anyway, thanks for listening to my crazy idea and feel free to comment about it, if you like.
