Study, Foosball, Games And Leukaemia/cancer

Well, I had today off TAFE because I finished all my work (what a nerd :P), so I decided to apply for next year's TAFE course, Certificate IV in IT (Games Development) at a different campus. I got lost on the way to the campus because I had never been there before, and only found it on pure luck.

I asked reception where to go to apply, and they said it was in another campus, the campus I was studying websites this year. When I told them that campus had pointed me to them, they pointed me down a long corridor to where I needed to ask.

As I went, I took in the sights of the building, and found it was far superior to both campuses I had studied at in the past put together... it even had a Foosball table! No other campus had one of those!

When I arrived, I was given the application form, which I filled in. However, I was nervous for some reason, so I messed up a few times. That was when I noticed something significant: the course had been renamed Certificate IV in Digital and Interactive Games! Furthermore, there was now a Diploma course of the same name: Diploma in Digital and Interactive Games!

When I finished filling in the form, I handed it in, and the lady there explained what had happened. She also told me that if I was under 24 (not under 21 like I had previously believed) and had a Healthcare card, I could pay much less for the course! Because I'll be 21 when the course starts next year (could I please ask GregF questions now?), that was a huge relief because I didn't think I'd have the money to pay for both that and the car my dad gave me for getting my licence last month.

The next thing that happened is one I'll probably remember the most: another student came in to apply for the same course, and I think he had either leukaemia or some form of cancer! He was bald apart from a few white hairs, and he was on a walking stick. Most chilling of all was that he appeared to be about my age, maybe a little younger! Once again I realised how lucky I really am!
