So, today I went down the Sandringham line for my nostalgia trip.
The first thing I did was stop at Elsternwick and watch the Puss In Boots movie. The movie's story was great, however it had no ties whatsoever with the Shrek series it spawned from.
Afterwards I went next door to have lunch, but it was closed! No longer is it the Sinatras that I used to love as a kid; it appears to have become a night club! It wasn't even going to open until 3:30pm!
I then went to nearby Elwood and paid my respects to my grandmother and her town. I bought chips for lunch, but wasn't able to finish them, so I took them home with me (which I regretted when I found we were going to go to an all-you-can-eat restaurant for dinner). Something else I did, I don't think I'm allowed to mention on a kids' forum in this nanny-plagued post-9/11 world. I MIGHT bring it up again at the start of next year.
My next stop was Gardenvale. On the way to Grandmother's home, we took the car along Nepean Highway, and under a bridge on the Sandringham line. Gardenvale was the station at the end of the bridge. It was a dream come true to finally ride a train over that bridge.
I then went all the way to Sandringham, and then back home again, just because I can.
