Yeah, I do hope they keep the same epic music composer from the original trilogy. However, I hope they don't put too much doom and gloom on the ring like they did in the other movies; after all, the ring turned out to be a useful trinket in the Hobbit novel, whereas it's true nature wasn't revealed until the Fellowship.

I read somewhere that was half the battle, ie not demonising the ring so much. It's going to be difficult, because it's so ingrained in our minds from the movie trilogy that it is such a terrible evil. This is particularly a problem for those silly people who haven't read the books as well, and know that the Hobbit doesn't put nearly as much emphasis on how evil the ring is, but it does elude to it being shifty, from memory. But yeah, I hope they do that well. It's an added problem knowing how fully rounded a character Smeagol is, when in the Hobbit it's not like close to that. The two will be the biggest problem for the films, everything else will be sorted by itself. Also Jackson will make the films drag on forever as usual but oh well.

Anyway, yeah, Howard Shore is doing the music, so yes!

My main concern is that Gandalf will be involved in a pairing with an elf. I really hope that doesn't happen. Otherwise, the movie looks like it will be excellent; I think the actor chosen to play a younger version of Bilbo will do a fantastic job.

I seriously doubt what we saw in the trailer was part of a love relationship between the two. Peter Jackson will take some liberties with the story, obviously, but this doesn't seem like something he would do. She's probably just remarking about how old he looks, or something.
