Don't worry, my blog isn't going to turn into a thoughts-about-comics thing. I'll post regular entries, this is just the easiest way to share my thoughts on each chapter of my comic. Then again, my life is pretty boring so I suppose this is the best use my blog has seen.

I really enjoyed making this first page. I've had the concept floating around for quite a while and even had about six pages drawn, but they were outdated and no longer funny by the time I decided to gather my courage to post. That and I spilled water on them so all the warp lines were too hard to edit out. Starting over was easier.

In the original version only Luke and Kakaru were working the shop and Kakaru was the one who had to go to the archives by himself to get the Lesovikk picture. Velox still punched a hole thorugh CoT and to be honest it actually makes more sense to have CoT just above the archives since it's at the bottom of the site. I had to work it in quicker this time to introduce Velox so it lost a bit of coherence but I'm okay with it. I still crack up every time I read that line. XD

I tried hard to get that "oh brother" look on Kakaru's face in panel four, but it wasn't working quite the way I wanted it to. I must have redrawn that panel four times before I gave up and settled for what it is now. I don't think anyone but me cares.

The word filter joke was practically mandatory, as it comes up every time I meet with BZPers IRL. I'm trying not to abuse the joke but it's really hard not to add "#####" or "an cool guy" jokes every other panel. I'm trying hard to convey as much information about the characters and setting as I can so I can't do throwaway jokes like that often. That, and it gets dull after a while.

Each character's nose, hair, and ear shape is supposed to look different to help distinguish them but I don't think I made clear enough in the first page. It's a shame, since that's the most crucial time to establish characters.
