alternative title: In Which I Rescue the Princess
As I said last entry, I stopped by Whiterun. While there I picked up a new spell book: Fireball (any previous mentions of Fireball were actually Firebolt, sorry for any confusion).
HOLY MOLY EXPLOSIVE FIREBALLS THIS IS AWESOME
I returned to the location closest to my search for the Sybil and continued on my way. I wasn't sidetracked any more; upon arriving there was some sort of argument between the villagers and Silver-Bloods. After the Silver-Bloods left, I found out that Forsworn had taken the girl. I got to Broken Tower Redoubt without any trouble. Now that I'm higher level, Forsworn don't stand a chance; previously, they gave me quite a challenge. As such, this quest didn't give me much difficulty. The entire building was littered with alcohol, what a bunch of drunkards. I made it to the final room and easily killed the last Forsworn, a Briarheart. I saved the girl and returned her to Whiterun.
Next up, I decided to do an older quest and retrieve Nettlebane. Cue trip back to Orphan's Rock, where I previously got DESTROYED by a Hagraven.
This time I fared a lot better. I took a lot of damage while approaching her due to her long range magic, but once I got close it was no contest.
I took the blade back to Whiterun and the woman asked me to do the next part of her task for her. Lazy bum.
While I was making my rounds selling things in Whiterun before departing, I spoke to a woman with information about Sam, the guy I got drunk with. I was supposed to investigate Rorikstead, apparently I just bypassed most of the quest. Whatevs.
I fast traveled close to my destination and a Dragon appeared. I slung Firebolts at him and kept missing while he continued to circle. After a few minutes he flew away.
I entered Eldergleam Sanctuary. Another cave with trees and rain inside, interesting. After slashing some roots with the knife I snagged some sap from the tree.
And suddenly, nature started fighting back.
Spriggans are tough buggers, especially since they heal. The Matriarch gave me quite some trouble. I ate a lot of food that day.
After exiting I decided to go investigate a nearby Standing Stone. While I walked towards it another Dragon appeared, maybe it was the same from before. This one landed though, turns out it was a Blood Dragon. I could barely scratch the thing and died. Next try, I snuck around and managed to avoid its gaze. I made it to the Atronach Stone. Didn't interest me so I left it unactivated.
I hightailed it out of there, far enough away to be able to fast travel. The Dragon didn't see me, and soon enough I had returned to the safety of Whiterun.
