Why would TV networks give out colonoscopies?

That's would I was hoping someone could explain. :/

Getting one's colon examined can be quite important to one's health (whether to diagnose colon cancer or any of the other few uses of colonoscopies).

CBS has a history of promoting precisely this (Katie Couric had a colonoscopy broadcast), as well as some general charity work.

CBS has a lot of money and can thus afford to give out medical procedures.

That's really all there is to say on the matter.
