There's a pump in the tail, a trigger in the nose, and when you pump it up and and drop/throw it it shoots six darts into the air.

Shouldn't be too difficult to turn it into a mortar, though.

Yeah, just get some PVC piping, a valve, and an air compressor. Boom. Instant mortar*.

*may not be instant
