So, as said before, my computer is in the shop, which is problematic for a few things I was planning over spring break.

I called the shop today, and apparently when they were doing the repair, someone tore the ribbon cable connecting the monitor to the motherboard, so they have to order a new one, wait for that to arrive, and install that before giving me my computer back.

Which wouldn't be quite as bad if it weren't for the fact the keyboard on this rental laptop I've been using is awkward to type on, and it has a nasty habit of crashing multiple times a day.
