Wieber's Failure to Move On

:kaukau: Today Jordan Wieber, American women's gymnast, failed to pass on to the final all-around by the slightest of margins. Even though she still gave one of the most powerful performances that would have otherwise qualified her, there is a strict 2-gymnast-per-country limit for the final round. Commentators and news anchors discussed whether or not this should be allowed, and there are diverging opinions. What's yours?

In other Olympic sports it's possible to have three people from one country on the same podium, such as in track. However, for sports such as soccer/football and basketball, it makes complete sense that there should only be one team from each country, and every country should have an opportunity to compete at the highest level, such as the finals. I'm divided between these two strains of logic, so I'd like to hear the opinions of others.

Who can say? I've never held a competition the size of the Olympics before. Though, if it were up to me, I would not restrict anyone from any country to compete. To each their own. Why? It would be more interesting. Every country giving it their all, and audiences would truly see all that humans are physically capable of. I don't believe in hindering one group of people just because they have more than someone else. That is life; it's a war and it's not fair. IT IS A BATTLE TO THE DEATH UPON A GRAND SCHEME OF-

whoa... Kinda getting carried away. XD

Though, in BBC contests, I have seen a sentence thrown in about "No complaining that someone else has special or rare parts that you don't have. That's life." or something along those lines. Then again, BBC is not the Olympics, so it's anyone's call, really.
