Flying is fun! (Except for the hassle of airports.)

IDK, I like the hassle, I find it fun.

Flying is statistically safer than almost any other form of transport. There are a ridiculous amount of measures in place to protect everyone involved, redundant systems and whatnot. The problem, of course, is that a plane crash is significantly more dramatic than a drunk driver wrapping their car around an oak, so every single plane problem gets crazy amounts of press, blowing the perceived proportion of airliner fatalities to automotive fatalities crazy high.

Long story short, as long as there isn't major human error, or crazy improbable fate, you're perfectly fine when flying.
