GSR Posted March 10, 2013 Shiny, cap'n. I only got to use a Surface once back at my job, but I still want one really bad. Can't really justify the purchase, though. So basically, dude i envy you so hard Quote Link to comment
Noxryn Posted March 10, 2013 Pretty. Love it. Specs? :3 CPU Quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 2GB RAM Storage 16GB (Technically 32GB, but the OS takes up a lot of the space. Which is fine, I can use mini-SD cards for more space if I need it, and I have a few 35GB ones [mostly for my camera/3DS but they won't be running out of space anytime soon]). OS Windows RT; a less-full version of Windows 8 that doesn't allow the use of third party programs (like Minecraft, or Zenwriter) and only apps in their app store are available programs. But it comes with Powerpoint, Excel, Word and has an e-reader already on it, plus Kindle, Skype and all those things. (Pro has the full Windows 8 OS on it, but I didn't need that for what I intend to use this for). Battery 31.5 wh (From using it as I used it, Skype calls, YT, Word, downloading documents and uploading pictures and using the camera, it lasted about 4 - 5 hours on a half charged battery). Power Supply 24W Sensors Ambient light sensorAccelerometerGyroscopeCompass Ports Full-size USB 2.0microSDXC card slotHeadset jackHD video out portCover port Cameras and A/V Two 720p HD LifeCams, front- and rear-facing Two microphones, Stereo speakers Wireless Wi-FiBluetooth 4.0 Display 10.6" ClearType HD Display1366x768 pixels16:9 (widescreen)5-point multi-touch Exterior 10.81 x 6.77 x 0.37in 1.5lbs VaporMg casingDark Titanium colorVolume and Power buttons *took it from their website and added in some comments here and there* but it does run a little faster than my laptop (although my laptop also boots up a lot of programs when turned on... like Steam, Curse, Skype, Spotify, etc...) and can do most of the same things. If there was a Zenwriter app for this tablet it would make me 10x happier, but Word works well enough (and Word is compatible with Zenwriter, so I can switch documents out on computers pretty easily). I'm mostly using it for writing/schoolwork/reading/digital textbooks (due to its size it's pretty easy to bring wherever, doesn't take a lot of space up on desks/tables so I can have all my notes sprawled out around it). The touch-keyboard cover is also my favorite thing. Additionally, I liked this more than the iPad devices (a friend of mine uses one, and I just dislike the feel of it personally). And in comparison, my laptop has... maybe half the battery life unplugged <.<;;; Quote Link to comment
Bambi Posted March 10, 2013 Nice nice. Good to know I'm not the only one with a 1366x768 resolution. Quote Link to comment
Bundalings Posted March 11, 2013 Waaaant. Want want want. Want. But nooooo, I have to sensible and be satisfied with my boring old, non-touch Lenovo that runs perfectly and is fantastic. But it's not a Surface. =/ Quote Link to comment

Gatanui Posted March 11, 2013 Nice nice. Good to know I'm not the only one with a 1366x768 resolution. I have the same resolution, but for some reason I get four rows of tiles. The Surface looks great even in pink, though maybe it's just on pictures. Not sure I'd like it in that colour. And here I thought everyone hated Windows 8 and RT. Personally, I wouldn't like to use RT. -Gata Quote Link to comment
