Soundtrack Appreciation Post

Nintendo, you release far too few soundtracks, and I wish those you did release were more easily available. Would it be that hard to post all the soundtracks on iTunes?

Here's to appreciating the soundtracks, Nintendo or otherwise, that are available, and how awesome they are.

I own, from eBay, the Japanese Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Super Mario Galaxy soundtracks. My fave is probably Majora's Mask for pure addictive tunes, although Galaxy has a wondrous, different type of epic, inspiring pieces that are impeccably orchestrated. Wind Garden and Melty Molten galaxy, anyone?

Here's too rereleases of the Twilight Princess, Moka OoT remix, and MM orchestrated albums so they go down in price, and more soundtracking in general. (Also more iTunes/iTunes equivalent releases, pretty please?)

I want a Kid Icarus: Uprising soundtrack. That would make me happy.

I have Majoras mask from the Club nintendo thing, it has some cool stuff. I just wish I could find a nice picture of the album art to pair with it...

Oh my gosh, when I was playing that game I'd just turn on the unlockable in-game music library and listen to it as a regular music player. It's simply the best :D

I was just looking for soundtracks yesterday. Unfortunately, the only Nintendo soundtracks available on iTunes at all are Pokémon soundtracks (which I have two of). Not only are most Nintendo game soundtracks only available in Japan, but on top of that many were only available as temporary Club Nintendo rewards, meaning supplies are insanely limited. It's really frustrating—I tend to avoid pirating music whenever possible (after all, getting soundtracks without paying for them isn't exactly going to convince Nintendo to put out more soundtracks), but getting soundtracks to the games I love through legitimate channels is an ordeal.

I make a point of not downloading the pirated soundtracks, tempting as it may be. I am a huge fan of the released Pokemon soundtracks- forgot to throw the X/Y soundtrack up there, I downloaded that as well.

Frustrating is exactly how I would describe it.

I'm quite fond of the music from Metroid Prime, the whole trilogy. Very atmospheric tracks which set the mood for many areas and fights amazingly well. Some interesting contrasts between the best themes, Magmoor and Phendrana, Bryyo and Elysia...

Also, I'm a big fan of the soundtrack from Shadow of the Colossus. It's absolutely magnificent, and one of the many reasons why the game is a true work of art. The Opened Way, The Demise of the Ritual, and especially A Despair-Filled Farewell in particular are amazing. Definitely give SotC's soundtrack a listen if you haven't yet. Or, watch a playthrough of the game. Many of the tracks particularly resonate when you hear how they fit into their respective battles with the colossi.
