Protector of Stone is my favourite of the six elder sets. It's just so full of character.

So far I've actually been surprised to see that most of the folks who have gotten their hands on LoSS (or at least, the ones who have posted about it) have reviewed him much more positively than the early reviews on sites like BZPower and Eurobricks. Of course, part of that is probably selection bias—only the people who are willing to give him a chance despite those negative reviews are buying him early.

So have you opened the sets yet? And if so, what are your impressions?

DeeVee - yeah, I agree. Stone definitely has more character than water somehow.

Lyichir - I have opened them, and I like them a lot. I'm a little perplexed by some of the chest and back armour placements though. On the Protector of Water, if you remove the 3L liftarm with the central ball joint connector beneath the trans-dark blue back armour piece and just attach the armour directly to the torso piece the proportions look a little better. Also, removing the trans-dark blue piece on the front and attaching the larger gunmetal armour piece to the 3L ball joint liftarm directly via some half-pins would be better too. The latter can be done for both Protectors.

Other than those little details, I'm very happy with them. I love the masks, and I'm glad to have some of the newer connectors because I didn't get any from HF.
