TWEWY

So I've started playing this game again after... seven months, about. I'm still towards the beginning, but I'm liking things so far. I set Shiki to auto play while I destroy noise on the bottom screen. That seems to be working well so far, although pigs are still fleeing too quickly. I like the dynamic between Shiki and Neku. Also it's nice having an introverted protagonist. I think the game handles it well.

Also grinding is actually fun in this game. Something about using the stylus to strike is oddly rewarding. Glad I picked this game up. ^^

As for what I think is going on... I have no idea. After a seven month gap, I'm kinda fuzzy on facts, and I don't want to look online because it looks like a lot of work went into the story, and I don't want to spoil it.

Yess TWEWY yesss

I would go and play through the first bit and kinda speedrun up to where you are to reexplain up to where you are but I only have the iOS port, which unfortunately is borked now and won't be fixed so I can't play it anymore. =(

(guess that is another reason I should get a 3ds)

But seriously I love TWEWY so so so much

Glad to hear you're enjoying the game!  It's a really fun and interesting title, yet so few people know of it.

Don't worry too much about Pigs--they're fun bonuses, but you don't necessarily have to erase them until you get into the post-game content.

For the gap-induced fuzziness, I'd be happy to provide spoiler-free answers for any questions you have!  The Android version still works so I can retrieve the info in a flash.

I picked up on around day four of the first week. Before that is pretty fuzzy. Like the exact circumstances that Shiki and Neku teamed up under and the explanations from Mr. What's-his-name-cutie-mc-sunglasses after Neku and Shiki had their fight thing. Aka the reaper tricking Neku.

I need to play the DS version, I only ever played the mobile remix (though I can't imagine it being a better experience).

Regardless, great game and amazing soundtrack.

I'm actually surprised by how much I like the soundtrack. It's normally not my style, but the songs actually did get me dancing in my seat. XD

Also I managed to nab a DS copy a while back. I can't imagine this game on mobile.

Ah, I see!  Okay, quickish summary of the first three days.

-Day 1: Neku wakes up with no memory and a weird email with his mission.  He quickly discovers that most people can’t see him, the Noise are attacking him for some reason, and this pin in his hand lets him hear people’s thoughts.  Shiki stumbles across him and shouts something about making a Pact, and after a little pestering he accepts and gains the ability to use Pins.  Shiki tells him they are part of the week-long “Reapers’ Game”, but Neku ignores her and walks off…only for her to follow him, reiterating that they’ve formed a Pact and need to stick together.  She manages to convince him to fulfill the mission; upon arrival at their destination, the timer vanishes, only for a Reaper to show up and send Noise to attack them.

-Day 2: Neku and Shiki find themselves in a tunnel with a man in a red hoodie—another Reaper—who tells them to defeat a few Noise before removing the wall blocking their exit.  Once outside they meet another pair of Players in the Reapers’ Game, Beat and Rhyme, who offer a few tips and suggest that they all work together.  Neku immediately declines.  Another red-hoodied Reaper blocks their way until they defeat the Noise around a nearby statue, and then they go on to clear out the Noise around another statue (the famous Hachiko) to clear the mission.  The Reaper from the previous day attacks again; Neku decides he should try fighting her directly, but Shiki advises against it.  The Reaper then tells Neku she will let him out of the Game…if he erases Shiki.  Neku is hesitant, so the Reaper says Shiki has been spying on him and reporting back to the Reapers, angering him enough that he starts a Force choke on Shiki

-Day 3: Neku wakes up alone, someplace dark.  He looks around a bit and stumbles into Shiki, who claims she’s found the exit, and then the scene cuts back to the end of Day 2.  Before Neku completed erasing Shiki, the mysterious Mr. Hanekoma appeared and told the Reaper that she was breaking the Game’s rules and should be on her way.  Neku is furious at being tricked, but Hanekoma tells him he still goofed and needs to apologize to Shiki and learn to trust her if they want to survive.  Shiki asks Neku to open up, so he reveals he has amnesia and can’t really tell her a whole lot.  Back on Day 3, the mission arrives and Neku spots a photo on Shiki’s phone—she says it’s of her and her friend, Eri, but doesn’t seem too keen on saying much else on the subject.  Turns out they’re right where the boss is supposed to be, but for some reason the boss isn’t there.  There’s another flashback to the meeting with Hanekoma, where he gives some advice on how to play the Game (saying it takes place in an alternate Shibuya called the Underground (UG) and if they lose, they lose their right to exist) and gives Neku and Shiki the Fusion pin.  When you go back to Day 3 you kick off a chain of fetch quests involving a band leader named 777, his good for nothing tech guy, memes (here, ideas you can imprint into people’s thoughts), and getting the lights back on in the concert stage, which causes a giant Noise to appear.  The timer doesn’t go away when it is erased, but Beat and Rhyme arrive to erase the Noise’s true, smaller form, clearing the mission.  This makes Neku realize that perhaps they should work together after all.

And, that gets you to Day 4, which begins with a villain conference and a ridiculously easy mission…too easy…

I guess that’s not all that quick, sorry.  This should cover the basics, though, and let me know if you have any more questions!

Thanks! Looks like I picked up on the second half of day three then. Also, before I forget, this popped in my head:

Shiki: So, Neku, I guess you could say your headphones are... noise canceling :B

Neku: o.e ... -.-''

Send help.
