So I Started Playing Omega Ruby Today
I've had the game for a few months now, but I was still playing through Pokemon Y again when I bought it. And I didn't want to be playing through the two games at the same time. So I finally finished Y a week or so ago and now have started Pokemon Omega Ruby. And can I just say that I've enjoyed it a lot so far.
The game looks beautiful. It really uses the Pokemon X and Y design to make Hoenn look amazing. Just seeing the title screen of the game alone gets me pumped up to continue my adventure. The music is also really good. The original Ruby and Sapphire games had some great music to begin with, and hearing it in this game just brings back many childhood memories.
I also feel like the game improves on some of the things from X and Y. The Pokedex in X and Y was a little too complicated IMO, and I only really used it for tracking down the Legendary Bird when it showed up in the games. The Pokedex here, however, feels simpler to use, and I think that great because it makes it more useful to me. I also really love how it looks. It's simplistic design is just look great to me.
The new APP device for finding Pokemon is really neat. I've used it to find some interesting Pokemon, including one I wanted to use on my team, a Taillow. Of course, the one I found was at level 15, knocked out my starter in one hit, and the only reason I caught was because I threw a Pokeball at it at near full health and somehow it didn't break free. Now it's mine, and I haven't even challenged the first gym yet! (I just got to Rustboro as of this post.) I kind of feel overpowered at the moment.
Overall, I'm really glad to finally be playing this game. I knew I was going to enjoy playing it, but I didn't expect to feel the excitement I feel as I play it. I can't wait to continue exploring this region again.
