I'm thinking that the Trial Champions and Kahuna replace Gym Leaders, since that's two important trainers times four islands which gives us 8.  Not sure yet though.

What I want to know is if Mega Evolution is coming back.  I don't expect them to be quite as prominent, but I'd still like them to be a thing.

Ice/steel Sandshrew is rather awesome... Though it also seems kind of weird combo... I wonder if fire attacks are 4x Effective

Weird type combos are something I hope we see a bunch of going forward!  There are so many combinations that haven't been used yet, and trying to find ways to make the off-the-wall ones work is going to lead to some awesome creativity!  I'm so pumped!!

And I wonder how Alola Forms are going to affect breeding?  Will they be in different egg groups?  If you breed a regular Sandslash with an Alola Sandslash, will you get a Ground Sandshrew with Ice type Egg Moves?  Then chain breed ice moves onto everything Sandshrew can breed with?  The possibilities!

I just want a ghost/steel garchomp out of all this.

Well... Take this with a grain of salt, but the trailer that first hinted Z-Moves had a pose that just had a burst of energy like Mega Evolution - and the new attacks seems to imply it gathers energy around itself, and then forces it out in one large attack...

And the crystals are held by Pokemon too, apparently, much like the Mega Stones...

B-But...they wouldn't design all those rad Mega Evolutions and then just ditch them, right?  Let all that work go to waste?  Make it so that I need to keep a Gen VI game forever if I want to keep using Megas?
