I'd love to see it back. Learned a lot about people back in the day.

Monthly focus on members who've made particularly notable contributions makes sense too (bonus: more content for the homepage).

Wouldn't mind having a once-weekly (or daily) feed back in the sidebar too.

I would say no, because there's a lot of people on BZPower who would just use the opportunity to rub it in the faces of those they despise, and that's just not cool

I feel almost as if monthly may be too much, it reminds me too much of the whole, "Employee of the Month" concept, which is often awarded for achievement. Having it random seems odd to me and I feel like it could get stale. Also, having it be based upon some sort of creative thing that the member created would also seem not nearly as fair. This is mainly due to the fact that not everyone contributes to the site in creative ways, some simply post, some report, some play games or other such activities. 

I would, however, support a weekly basis. For 52 weeks that would be 52 members. It could be a "Member of the Week," which to me would seem less contrived. It also would support more of a random aspect to it since it's only a week. I think it would work better in my opinion.

I do support the idea, however.

I'm not sure it really would work in this era of BZPower. If you do it by ramdom selection, the computer will inevitably pull up inactive members every time, by virtue of over 99% of the site's 30,000 plus members having not visited in years. But if you do it by staff or member selection, I fear as others do that it would lead to favoritism and other abuses, especially knowing what I do know about the ways some portion of BZPower's remaining active members conduct themselves off-site.

However, this is getting into stuff that, ironically, I really can't discuss further on BZP, so I'll just leave it at that.

Fairly simple to have it only choose members with an active session within the past year or w/e. Don't have to choose from the entirety of the user base.
