Words To Live By
I read a joke in a joke book today, that I actually think is more than just a quick laugh. Goes like this:
How many art directors does it take to change a lightbulb?
-Does it have to be a lightbulb?
Essentially making fun of how art directors presumably question everything and are always suggesting something different.
I actually think those are some very wise words. Think about it.
You want to make something light up. Does it have to burn something? Does it have to be oil? Wax? Wood? Looks like Edison didn't think so.
You want to make something fly. Well look at the birds. They flap their wings.
Does it have to flap its wings? Mr. Orville and Wilbur apparently disagreed.
Truly words to live by. Next time you do something, just think. Does it have to be on paper or canvas? Does it have to be with words? Does it have to be in that language? Does it have to be that one kind?
Does it have to be a lightbulb?
