Sga Season Finale!
The city was submerged for the first time since the show's pilot! Then it got even better--they finally got the city to fly!
Holy unferth, it is difficult to restrain the geeky fanboy virus that is in my blood.
This season of Stargate: Atlantis had its ups and downs--in fact I'd describe recent episodes as "rocky." I have been a tad uncertain about the direction the show has been heading, especially with the recent death (or apparent death) of Dr. Beckett, which was the final kick of many in the only episode of the series to date that I have "flat-out" disliked.
Despite all this though, the season finale was good, and looks to be setting up a fantastic fourth season. I actually like Beckett's replacement (though whether I will like the character as much as her predecessor remains to be seen), exciting new developments have occurred, and it looks like there will be some heart-pounding action happening with the entire shielded city adrift and lost in space. SGA has been mostly ground-based so far; I am looking forward to this opening up a nice space-faring arc in the story.
In addition to this, Samantha Carter from SG1 will be joining the SGA cast. While I am a tad wary of the circumstances leading to this--apparently she will be replacing Dr. Weir, but whether it will be permanent or not is undisclosed--I like the character and look forward to her presence on the show, especially if the humorous banter between her and my favorite SGA character, Dr. McKay, continues as it has in the past.
Now all they need to do is make Dr. Z a full-time character!
