In an unnamed world that relies on four elemental crystals to survive suddenly turns to darkness. The waters sink a civilization. The wind stopes blowing and airships decline to the ground. The earth dies and agriculture fails to live. Raging fires cannot be controlled.

It won't be until a few hundred years later that 4 chosen Light Warriors come to the aid of the world. They traverse the lands to restore each of the crystals, and defeat the Elemental fiends that have corrupted them. During these travels they have learned that a dark knight, Garland, is the one responsible for the world's state. Turns out the elemental fiends created a demon known as Chaos and used Garland for the body, and sent him 2000 years into the past. Chaos, in the past, then sent the fiends into the future, causing a neverending time loop. The Light Warriors follow Chaos into the past and defeat him and restore the world to its rightful balance.

This is Final Fantasy.

Today is the North American release of Final Fantasy I for the PSP, which is to celebrate the 20 years of Final Fantasy. Later today I shall go and buy it and play it.

What I had you listen to was a remix of Matoya's Theme, a theme of which is well associated with thegame, along with the Prelude and Final Fantasy theme
