1408

I don't usually watch scary movies since I'm a self-proclaimed coward. :P But being here has been all about doing something new.

So I watched 1408 and it scared the living daylights out of me, then cast a revive spell and scared them out again.

It was a good movie but as far as I'm concerned, I'm going to generally avoid the horror genre from now on. Not my cup of tea. Or blood, as the case may be.

OH YEAH almost forgot I saw the Mahri teaser at the theater. Pretty nice...

I managed to obtain a wallet today, though, which is good. I have somewhere to keep my stuff. Though I think my Metrocard is running low, I'll put more on sometime later.

Another thing I forgot. I saw people playing speed chess on the streets of NYC today. Very interesting. Absurdly fast. I dunno how they keep track of it, and I could hardly tell it was mate when they cleared the board. Of course I don't know anything about chess beyond the rules, no special opens or strategies, no amazing mental eye of where everything on the board is... but still. Faaaaast...

Also, the Lyg comic could use your support. =D

I -NEVER- watch horror movies, you have no idea how much sleep I lose after them.

And if you're looking for a good scare, I suggest "Mokee Joe" by Peter. J. Murray, it -WILL- scare the living daylights out of you, cast a revive spell, and scare them out of you again, and keep doing that until you've finished the third book.

Oh, and speed chess, what on earth is that?

I've DISPISED horror movies ever since I saw a Chucky movie on Sci-Fi channel when I was 9.

I've been seriously afraid of dolls ever since.

Meh, I don't mind horror movies that much. Then again, most I've seen aren't that scary.

Though this is from someone who reads H.P. Lovecraft at 2:00 in the morning. :P

I think, however, that it would be impossible to make a movie out of any of his stories. How do you make a movie that literally manipulates your emotion to make you feel dread or vague unease. You can describe it in a book, but I don't think it's possible to translate into images.

Hm, maybe pheromone manipulation...
