Christmas In August
Just had a choir meeting about 4 hours ago.
We ran through a few pieces that we need to get done for our upcoming church-wide Bible Study program, and a piece we had to be comfortable with so that our Orchestra could come in next week and play accompaniment. Lots of Tom Fettke stuff. Two of them are absolutely gorgeous, but one's on a 3:4 time with a really odd placement of notes in the chorus, and one goes from a 4:4 time in accapella to a 9:8 time with a lot of eight notes. ><
Then we started looking at Christmas stuff.
Yay Christmas.
We're actually not doing a live drama and performace like we usually do - it's more of a four-choir cantata or something along those lines. TONS of David Clydesdale, which just made the Orchestra members groan. Clydesdale= 6 sharps and a bazillion key changes! =D
No choreogoraphy mentioned as of yet, thank goodness. >< The first year I was in this particular choir, we had to do one of those each-vocal-part-sings-a-different-string-of-notes-and-words-at-the-same-time sort of thing, which sounds awesome, but when coupled with the fact that we had 60 people trying to do it while moving the entire time... ugh, I got stuck next to loud bass singers way too many times during rehearsals.
And I won a bag of Christmas bows. They are pretty. And useful.
And pretty useful. :3
