To Build, Or Not To Build?
I've had some different constructions I've wanted to tackle for ages, but even when I get the chance to MOC, it's usually during a contest. And even then I often lack time to properly finish the darned things.
I still want to make a unicorn and a griffin, HOMM V style. Examples: unicorn and griffin. Unfortunately, I'm not up to tackling those yet, as my animal MOCing skills are still at a low level.
I'll probably do a few Neo Toa first. I usually try to build Neo Toa anyway, but they tend to turn out bigger than planned every time. I should probably make more liberal use of my liftarm supply. One of them will probably be a red and oxblood Toa of Fire, the other a smaller, cooler version of Wildchild. I want to make use of a new cape idea on the latter, as well as a different incorporation for the cloth cloaks found in the KK sets. Abarai's Zabimaru (from the anime series Bleach) has inspired a tool design I want to try, though it won't be nearly as cool as the source of inspiration itself... I don't have enough minifig katana to pull that off. I'll probably try and incorporate the light-up part from an Inika tool, use Hewkii's and Vezon's chains somewhere else, use a few Zamor (not sure which colour), perhaps even an Inika head... I also need to rework the chest and upper leg design. Oh, and I've got a rather interesting shield idea, but I don't know whether it'll work or not.
As you can tell, a Wildchild redux is currently my favourite MOCing project. But even were I to have the time required to build it, I still don't have the necessary pieces - I don't have any Inika yet, and Vezon & Fenrakk aren't even on S@H for Belgium to begin with, so the set most likely isn't in stores yet either.
Oh well, I'll just have to endure and practice patience... I just hope the store price isn't actually €12.99 as indicated on S@H, because that's a rather discriminating price difference. Especially considering the fact that the Inika are the most alluring Toa sets to date.
