As a news reporter for BZP, I get several news reports on several things.

1. There are times when there will be a report from like 2 members and their names are given as the source. Then they get proto, sometimes. The reason for this is because the report is unique and obscure, so only a few sent it.

2. There will be times when several members send in the same report, and the credit is given as BZP Members. No proto is given. The reason for this is because majority knew about it, and the report isn't unique for proto, and credit is usually limited to a few members (usually BZP members is used when more than 3 or 4 members send in the same report).

3. There will be times when member(s) will send in a report and they aren't credited at all, but instead an official source is credited (like Lego, Greg, etc). This usually happens because the official source gets the prime credit when we get the info from them (for example, my recent article had Greg and BZP Members. Greg was for the comic artist because that is where I got the info from, his blog. BZP members is for the numerous reports about the fifth comic).

There also comes the issue of "who sends the report first". Members always insist that they sent it in first, weeks ago, etc etc. Most of the time these claims are exaggerated. Let me tell you guys something, you can never tell us who sends in the report first. We know who sends what (if they include their name that is).

So to the members who are always like "i sent this in, why wasn't i credited and given proto!". Well the reason is cuz of #2 and #3. Also, sometimes we get so many reports (and spam emails), that your report may be overlooked as well.

And also remember this, sending in news does not guarantee proto.
