December Aus Lego Mag

It's that time again, and the LEGO Magazine has wished us a Brick-Filled Christmas. Joy of joys. First up, find the red presents in the LEGO city pic. Fun times. There's meant to be 9, but I think I found 10. XD

Next up is the Cool 'Creations'. Again, except for a couple of exceptions, they seem to have put the Creations back into that page. Which is good.

After that is a preview for a Mars Mission set for 2008, and a word search. Word searches are fun, so that's good. After that is a two page spread for the Mars Mission Command Base, showing all the features and such.

After that is another double spread promoting the 2007 BIONICLE playsets, stats and all. Very useful, which is cool. After that is a double page for Exo-Force fans, which is a comic of sorts, featuring that huge nasty green tank thing.

A single page devoted to the new MTT and Jedi Starfighter, where you have to find two blue and two red Battle Droids. I spent seconds finding them. After that is some instructions for some cool looking robot you can make from one of the LEGO Creator sets.

But here's when things get interesting. There is a page with info about the Toa Nuva Phantoka and their Matoran counterparts! And man, they still look cool. There's also a maze where Tanma is looking for Kongu Lewa, poor baby. tongue.gif

On the back cover is the teaser for the Phantoka that we saw a while ago, and it looks so much cooler on paper. And you can see Karda-Nui in the background, as well as the Ignika, and the six Phantoka in their silhouetted forms. You know the one. Kongu and Tanma in the middle. Yep, you got it.

The most intriguing thing about this magazine is the BIONICLE Anthology poster. I saw it on Brickshelf a couple of weeks ago, and I thought it was awesome. And now I have it. You can view it here. Thanks to whoever who uploaded that.

There is a little pamplet advertising a new LEGO Education Centre in Brisbane. That's in alliance with the one in Victoria, no doubt.

Couple of more things, so bear with me. There is a chance to win one of 5 LEGO Racers sets for 2008, called the Ring of Fire, just by submitting 25 words, the normal deal. There's also the specials for the different stores, nothing BIONICLE there.

And finally, we have a 2008 catalogue!!! And the new sets are amazing this time, such being the new City stuff (I never knew I'd say that), the Indiana Jones sets, ye' Exo Force sets, with the gimmick of small robots coming out of weapons. Right. The Force Unleashed set, that is sweet. And of course, BIONICLE. The pages show the SHOOTING FUNCTION (I'm glad they've fixed their spelling since '05). The first double spread features the Phantoka, and how the Matorans *cringe* team up with their counterparts. The next page shows the Matoran, and after that is a page some would recognise as the Set Exclusive page with Mutran, Vican and Icarax. Again, they look cooler on paper. Sadly, and regretably, the Toa Ignika is nowhere to be found. The Ignika itself is on the pages, but the set isn't advertised at all. This is a bad sign.

Lastly, I mean it this time, The Australian/New Zealand LEGO Magazine will be celebrating it's 10th birthday in 2008. I've been getting the magazines since the end of 1998, so I've been with the magazine for almost the whole time. I have since I started received 37 magazines! Geez, time flies. When September 08 comes around, remind me to post a picture of the 40 Magazines I'll have then, meaning I would have been with them for 10 years. Wowzers.

Oh, and yeah, the magazine was OK. tongue.gif
