Wipeout On The Ice!
My older sister is heading of on a month long (?) trip to New Zealand so we had a special going away party for her.
It was lots of fun! We rented out the local ice rink and skated, played British bulldog and just fooled around. Then we went back to our house for some snacks and conversation.
But during the night I had experienced some............how you say......... emotional disappointments? (Forgive me it's late and I have no better words for it)
I am quite a loyal sister, I was broken when she left us for university and I still have a strong attachment to her.
Only she didn't seem to care that I didn't know 3/4 of the people that came to the party and she wouldn't introduce me.
Now it isn't that hard to mention someone’s name while introducing your friends to each other right?
"___ & ___ this is ___ & ___" she would say to her friends while getting her skates without introducing the first of her 3 little sisters; who was STANDING RIGHT BETWEET THE GROUP OF PEOPLE SHE WAS INTRODUCING! Of course I was crushed... I even shifted my position to be beside her and gave her a little nudge (hello I'm right here forgetting someone?). But she still didn't say anything.
I thought perhaps she was waiting till our other sisters arrived to introduce us..... I herd her say our names to some people on the ice but she never brought me up to some people and told me their names.
So throughout the entire evening I continue to show my affection and devotion to my sister and playing it cool in the group but even so I don't really think she saw me there...
Maybe for a second when I preferred to rest my head in her lap instead of grabbing a pillow from someone else (I love to be close to those I love) but as that second passed it seemed as I was just some puppy giving and wanting to receive affection.
Maybe she just doesn't care/want me in her life anymore.
I never want to do that to Gracey... I prize Gracey almost as much as I do my older sister. She is one of the most precious things I could have. I want her to know all my friends and be part of the group, to receive the affection I wanted from Jo when I was her age... I love my sisters so much...
But Jo doesn't seem to care so much....
Maybe she will remember me when she gets back... but I doubt it
