Elder Scrolls Help

Takatu

I have a problem. Kay, so I have the Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Game of the Year Edition. Thus, it came with Morrowind, the construction set, Tribunal, and Bloodmoon. I'm trying to install Tribunal. And yes, Morrowind itself is already installed.

So, I go through the quick installation process. I accept terms, all that stuff. I get to the end. It says Tribunal was successfully installed on my computer. I click "Finish".

And Tribunal is nowhere to be found on my computer. Anywhere.

Any ideas? I have no idea what to do. I opened the disk drive, put it back in, and it asked me if I wanted to install again. This happened about four times. Meaning I went through the whole process four times. Any and all help is appreciated.

Have you tried booting up Morrowind itself yet? It falls into the category of games that always run off the original game's disk, regardless of expansions. The play game/plugin selection/etc. bit before you actually run the game itself should be changed, with the Tribunal logo somewhere on there. If not, I'd try installing it one more time, this time paying extra attention to where things go and if they actually wound up in there. If it still doesn't pop up, well... I don't really know what you should try, I'm afraid.

Ah! Good call, Tufi -- it runs on the main Morrowind disk. The start-up menu is all Tribunal-y now, so it's there. Thanks for the help! :)

EDIT: Kay, not so much a problem as just my lack of computer knowledge, I don't think -- apparently Tribunal is on there, I checked the data files. Now, when I start a game, it takes me to the Morrowind portion. So, how do I access the Tribunal game itself, if anyone knows?

It's times like these where I wish I knew as much about computers as my uncle...

It's not a distinctly separate element: there are, however, some things you need to do to trigger the Tribunal content. First, sleep. If you get attacked, this is a good thing. Kill the assassin before they get to kill you. Loot the corpse as you see fit, then go find a guard. There should be a topic on attackers (and not 'hello I nearly got killed in my sleep good job guys'). They'll direct you to Apelles Matius in Ebonheart. He'll be outside in the main fort area. Ask him about the Dark Brotherhood, and he'll tell you you should go to Mournhold. Also, he will mention that there are no boats going to Mournhold. Fear not! There is a mage who will send you there, and she's even nearby. Go into the Grand Council Chambers, turn right, and hit up the mage in red for some transit. She'll send you to Mournhold.

Proceed as you will.

Wow, two other Morrowind players. I find out every day that something that I am a fan of is popular amongst others on here.

Yeah, Mournhold's one of the cooler places in the game.

What do you think of the guards' armor there. I think it looks cool, but that's just me, the fan of red.

Hey, have you been able to figure out how to actually do stuff with the construction set? I've tried following their instructions, tried following the tutorial to the letter, but I still can't get it to work right.

Nah, I looked through it once, that thing's WAY too complicated for my poor brain.

The guard's armor? Let me put it this way -- I'm trying so hard to find a way to get a full suit without killing one, and thus having pretty much all of Mournhold after me.

Once I'm done here, though, I think I'll try out the Bloodmoon expansion...

Morrowind FTW! : D

I need to go play it again. I logged at least 400 hours on it, but I haven't played in months.

Make that MOAR MORROWIND FANS. WHOOHOOO.

Yeah, Tribunal's basically to be found via Morrowind. That's what an exansion pack is. It's pretty dang swell.

It's probably best if you're a somewhat higher level before you go tramping about the more dangerous bits of Mournhold, lest you get eaten by epic level goblins. For real.

And I don't remember whether or not you can go through the main main quest of Tribunal without doing the main main quest of Morrowind first, since I had already finished the main quest ages ago by the time that Tribunal came out, and since the storyline kinda depends a bit on things that happen in Morrowind.

But just a little thing to keep in mind. The world is chaging, and Almsivi's had it rough changing with the world. Remember that as you see them now is not as they have always been. Mourn for their fall.

Ah, I knew it would only be a matter of time before Krahka saw this. :P

Apparently you don't have to go through that whole Nerevarine main quest first -- I'm using a file I created last month, where I only did the first part or so of it before focusing on exploring more of the stuff I hadn't before, like ruins and crypts and stuff. Then I decided to try out Tribunal, and I'm in Mournhold now. Dealt with the Dark Brotherhood (boy, wasn't THAT fun...), and now I'm going around investigating a rumor about the last king's death, cause apparently the new one was the person trying to off me.

The back of the case says something about the Clockwork City of Sotha Sil along with Mournhold, but I haven't heard anything about that. Those Mournhold sewers, though... I thought Vivec's were bad. Speaking of which, I thought Vivec was hard to get lost in -- Mournhold has proven me wrong. :P
