My Trip To Normady
About my vacation trip:
I went with my grandparents and to the north of France, Normandy, where D-Day took place.
My knowledge of it expanded largely due to the fact that I was more mature then the other times we went.
We stayed in a little coastal town of "Grandcamp-Maisy" in a bed and breakfast hotel.
On the first day, me, my grandma, my two sisters and my Mom went to Omaha Beach (sunny and sandy ). While my Dad and grandpa went to see some sites (Sainte-Mere-Eglise, Pointe du Hoc, The American cemetary: All of which I wanted to see to, but I didn't, except Pointe du Hoc which is really fun with lots of bomb craters and German bunkers ).
The next day, me, my Dad and my grandpa went to The Peace Memorial in Caen, then to the Pegasus Bridge Memorial (which is beyond cool ), then to the Merville Battery.
The next and last day, The girls went to Mont-Sainte-Michel, while we went to Arromanches where they built the artificial harbours, the battery at Longues-sur-mer (They still had the guns in them ), then Pointe-du-Hoc. Then we came home.
It was fun, I strongly suggest that if you get the chance, go to Normandy.
